SDCC: It's Official: Superman/Batman Film Announced (Updated w/ Movie Logo)

The movie was announced at WB's Movie Panel.

Source: ComingSoon.net

Director Zach Snyder has announced an unnamed Man of Steel sequel which will feature Batman. The film will be released in 2015.

Snyder had Henry Lennix announce the news via the following quote from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns:

"I want you to remember Clark," he says, "in all the years to come. In all your private moments. In all the years to come, my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you."

Snyder then flashed a Man of Steel logo in front of a Batsymbol.  No word on who will play Batman, but presumably Henry Cavill will return as Superman.

Here's the logo they flashed:

Ha! Right. Please go study the box office returns of Man of Steel, Dark Knight, and Avengers and get back to those of us in the real world.

Warner Brothers has no clue what to do with their properties. Man of Steel was, for all intents and purposes, passable at best. I love the Nolan DK trilogy, and it made buckets of money, but they aren't using that particular version of Batman. The less said about GL the better. Why this is firing up the fan base is confounding.

It should be called 'World's Finest', or at least have that as a subtitle.

They are probably trying to stave off the inevitable snarky critics who will, without a doubt, hate it. Variations of 'Worlds Lamest' come to mind.

If by "a ton of movie" you mean bloated and full of false self importance, then I agree. But I assume you mean "a ton of money", in which case we part ways. Big opening weekend, but not big enough for most insiders to consider it a success. Followed by the inevitable 60-65% second week drop off.
