Sorry if I seem a bit ditzy to all this... but...

I went to Leeds Comic Con a few Weeks back. I got Comics signed but no sketches. Mainly because me (and the dude I was with) didn't know the 'rule' on it all. :smt102 :smt102

Like, do I just go up to the artist and ask them to draw me something or do I have to ask in advance? The likes of David Aja had a MAHOOOOOSIVE que... but for the likes of Rafael Albuquerque (who had pretty much no-one at his table)... Do I just go up and ask him will he sell me a sketch??

Soz again for the absolute NOTHINGNESS that I know about this area of Comic Cons :?

You can always go up and ask, but I'd recommend contacting them in advance. They can only do so many sketches in a weekend, and their lists might be full by the time you get to them. Not only does asking in advance get you at the top of the list, some artists do better work from the comfort of their own home than hunched over a drawing board in a convention center. Some artists only take requests at the show, with no pre-orders, but it's still worth it to contact them ahead of time just to find out their prices.

I'd also recommend going to comicartfans.com so you can see what artists' sketches look like. There are some lesser known artists who do great work at bargain prices and also bigger names whose sketches don't look that good. Oh, and it's a good idea to bring references with you, so the artist doesn't have to bother finding one.

Victoria Price finished my Dagger commission today. I have to say she has been the friendliest and easiest person I have got a commission from.

Also got this from Fred Benes.

He-Man

I might want to actually scan these (since I have a scanner now), since some of the details are hard to make out. Like Ash's chainsaw hand that he "borrowed" from Optimus Prime.

MegaCon 2014 (I didn't get much because I was only there for a few hours on Friday. It was CRAZY on Saturday and I'm glad I wasn't fighting those crowds...)

Ash as He-Man by Ozzy Hernandez (the same guy who did my Ash/Optimus Prime).

Superior Spider-Man by Rob Torres

And some prints I bought from Charles Thurston:

He likes combining Disney & sci-fi stuff. Here's Ludwig Von Drake as the Doctor (1st incarnation).

Image

Chip & Dale as Han & Chewie.
