I think the point is that these are things that should be a concern, not that they are immediate threats. Being aware of these as potentials is important, though there are plenty of people who would rather not discuss things until they become a problem.

I don't know, I never heard of them until Eli brought them up. But any deference to religious law over the actual law in this country sets a very bad precedent, especially with wackjob religious law like Sharia.

Concern is fine. The problem is that this Angle lady is not expressing concern, she's pandering to misinformed xenophobia. Arresting one dude for harassment is not an implementation of Sharia law.

Well sure it could, but it's not now, which is the point of the article. Also, it could, but most likely it won't, because we have laws and a Constitution.

Why should we be afraid of something so unlikely.

Religious courts are not really a security threat to the United States. What they are, usually, is misogynistic. Religious divorces have been conducted in the U.S. in ways that have left women destitute, cut off from their children, and ostracized from their community. That's the real worry over allowing the operation of religious courts.

No it may not be happening, but it's important, not just in this case, to look at what could happen, even on a small scale. YOu guys are willing to do that with Obama protesters, Tea Partiers, and other groups, but not 'some' groups.
