At least 8-13 inches of snow tomorrow. I have to go to court. In Brooklyn. You can drive, or take the train. If i drive, it will take hours (heck thats true in normal conditions), be dangerous, and take me forever. and then i got to drive back in the worst of the snow
if i take the train, the worst that can happen is the train could be slow or delayed. BUT they announced that if it hits 10 inches of snow on the track, the train is going to be shut down because on train broke down last time and peopel were stuck in the train 3 hrs. So i could be stuck in brooklyn without away back, becauise it wont hit 10 inches until after i am there
and i cant wait to see if they close the courts, because if they dont, i will already haev to be on my way long before they make that decision.
bitches.

For me: work will most likely be closed tomrorow. Free day.
I will then work from home Thursday if the roads are still bad.
If I had my druthers I'd extend this into Friday making a nice 6 day weekend. Do the math!

D's right - if it's that bad they will surely have no choice but to close the courts...

Man up and quit yer bitchin'
When I was a kid I walked through 15-20 inches of snow in the summer. Up a hill, both ways.

Well then they should close it tonight and close work also
I am sick of waiting for this bullshit. But the weather man get it wrong so much, even though they swear this is a big one, they are not going to close early
One time i got up so early to shovel out and get to work. took forever
and then i just sat down, opened my computer. only to about 5 seconds later get sent a mass email and phone message that work was closed
Sent so late, if you were going to go, you had to have prepared to leave like 2 hrs before

In the ten years that I've been working at my courthouse we only closed down once and that was only because the power lines snapped and there was no power to the courthouse.
I've had to drive into that damn place in over a foot of snow. Our people are idiots.

One time i got a call the night before, when i worked for a judge, from the judge's secretary. 24 inches of snow was expected the next day and it had already started dumping like 8 inches
"yes, it's a snow day"
"The Judge says he will be coming in tomorrow and if you can make it come in, if not, don't come in"
The damn judge lived further away then i did. So if felt i had to go.
I got up at 4 am to shovel out for 2 hrs because the car was on the street and buried. I got to the train station and they were just starting to plow it out. i parked and hoped it didnt get plowed. the train was running really slowwwwwwww.
Got to work on time because i took the early train knowing that.
the entire court was closed except for this one judge's chambers.
an hour later, no judge. phone call. "My train broke down. i am stuck, they are pushing it with another train"
he came in 3 hrs late, and stayed an hour and went home
Virtually none of the attorneys/litigants showed up anyway and we had to adjourn it because it was understandable.

I doubt they will close. Its the city and people can take the subway to work. the subway wont stop.
But i dont live in the city and driving or taking the long island railroad seems to be equally poor options.
