How does Abramovich expect a manager to build a club if he keeps sacking them while they're in the construction process? It's a long term plan.

I agree. I also think that the problem is that the Chelsea dressing room is full of big egos. More so than Man City even.

And of course, that's an even bigger reason to stick with one individual in a long term plan.

Yeah, the old guys seemed to keep undermining him because he wanted them all on the chopping block. Abramovich should've just come in, point to the door and tell everyone to listen to the manager or take the exit. Instead the old men prevailed.

I'd hate to be the next Chelsea manager with that revolving door. Apparently Abramovich wants to poach Guardiola from Barca but I reckon Benitez will get the job.

No way Mourinho will return there IMO.

The result really didn't reflect the gameplay, did it

Was a lot like Arsenal/Liverpool but instead of RVP we had Young to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

Benitez makes the most sense. Just cause of Torres. It'd be like when he hired Ancelotti for Shevchenko.

Yup. King's been on a bad run of form lately. It's starting to worry me. Usually when he's in the side Tottenham are guaranteed at least a point.

I just didn't like the result.

I can only imagine how bad we'd have it if VDV, Bale and Parker were playing. Even with them missing we struggled to get chances.

I think Bale was a really big one though. Spurs had so many cross passes that went in with hardly anyone in the box, especially in the first half.

It's that time of year again when the speculation about promotion and relegation really starts. What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking that Bolton, Wolves and Wigan are going to be relegated. As for promotion, Southampton seems like and almost lock. My other two picks would be West Ham and Reading, the later because they've really turned it on recently.

I reckon it's Wigan, Wolves and QPR for the drop, I really think QPR are doomed, they don't have the type of players for a relegation battle, Mark Hughes is not that good a manager and they still have to play all of the current top 5 teams. DOOMED. I can't wait for Warnock's Leeds to beat them next season in the championship.

As for promotion... Southampton, West Ham, and even though I want to say Leeds it won't be them... probably Reading, they've got a surge on, but you never know with play-offs really.

Do you have any dark horse picks for promotion? Mine would be Blackpool. I think if they do get into the playoffs, they could pull another upset.

Oh man, that Chelsea come-back was ridiculous. Di Matteo seems to be a good motivator (it helps that he's a former Chelsea player I think), rather than a tactician and that seems to be working well.

I still wanted Napoli to go through but oh well.
