Anyone watching the first game of the season aka Liverpool vs Stoke?

Mignolet looks shocking. Great shot stopper but is horrible in the air and has bad footwork when facing set pieces. I predict Crouch will do him in.

Coutinho is putting through beautiful balls in with no finishing on the other end.

Sturridge remains a selfish punk the way he's playing. Good goal though.

He wasn't good early on, but he just redeemed himself with the save on that penalty kick.

Caught a bit of the Liverpool game. Caught the tail end of the Arsenal game.

About to watch the United game.

Big fan of this move to NBC Sports by the EPL. Soccer on NBC Sports Network and NBC proper so far today, nonstop.

No, he's become a Player-Coach, so he does both.

Scholes retired again though.

Tough first day for the two Welsh clubs in the Premier League.

I watched Palace's first game back in the Premier League. :smt023

They looked good overall, a little overmatched by Spurs at times, but I can't say I was really surprised by that. They didn't look out of place at this level though, and that's the important thing.

I will say that that the penalty that Moxey gave up that got Spurs the penalty kick was really annoying though.

Palace looked pretty good, Jedinak was amazing.

Given that I thought Palace has one of the weakest teams in the PL they did very well.

Arsenal look screwed leading up to the Fenerbache game....Sagna, Gibbs and the Ox out. And morale must be terrible following the Villa game and the fans chanting for their heads and signings.

Then again, Fenerbache choked and lost a game they were leading 2-0 and Emenike squandered a ton of golden chances.

I don't think I like Arsenal's chances of doing well this season either. I'm not even completely sure they'll finish top four.

And that's another reason for my uncertainty surrounding Arsenal.

Yeah they're in crisis..a shame to see another old rival hit the rocks leaving us with just City and Chelsea =/

'NINA BRACEWELL-SMITH has blasted Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke and admitted she regrets letting him getting his hands on the club.'

‘What a shame the board recommended a Kroenke takeover and paid Rothchilds 3m fee,’ she wrote.

‘And how deeply I regret selling to Kroenke. Bring David Dein and give Usmanov representation on the board if we are to have success going forward.’

Might be nothing, but over the course of today Willian and Lamela reps have come to London. I guarantee if Lamela is PL bound he'll be the next big thing if he gets signed by a good team.

Of course according to the papers this equals a double Spurs swoop as they map out a spending spree of the 93m pound Bale money Madrid gave them.
