Super Checkmate Draft 3.0

Postby e_galston » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:16 am

Rules: Any Media... no alternate universe characters UNLESS they have spent a significant time in the "core" universe.

Pym rule is in effect. meaning once a character is taken no other versions are allowed.

Basically we will be drafting, a white and black king, white and black queen, and 2 black and 2 white bishops, (Advisors) 2 white and 2 black Knights (Special agents) and 4 rooks (black ops), 4 pawns (non-powered civilians/thugs)

remember the Rule of Two: Each super-powered or otherwise enhanced member in the “Royal Family” must have an un-powered counterpart in a corresponding position of power. Rooks are the only exception to this rule.

Free For All.. you don't have to pick in order, but you need to post what pick your taking.

Check out this micro hero site: http://www.goldenagemicros.com/index.html

How about we also draft 4 Pawns? They could be non-powered civilians who support the operation. People like Pepper Potts, Jimmy Olsen, Snapper Carr, and Alfred Pennyworth. Basically any supporting cast civilian.

I think I'd like to come back for this draft, if no one objects.

1. Love that link, used it before. Here is another:

2. Pawn is a neat idea, if I go all villains could I used a faceless henchman?

I guess we'd have to decide where the line is. AIM agents, Cobra soldiers, Moloids, or Hydra agents aren't really on the same level as Pepper Potts or Jimmy Olsen. Does it mean any non-powered SHIELD agent could be a Pawn, like Dum Dum Dugan?

i'd say if one is doing a villain one, there aren't many villain civilians. so aim agents and the like should be fine. i think for the hero side of things for people using heroes, they can be either civilians and no-name grunts.

pawns should be a civilian or a "no name" pawn.

If I do an all villain one, I could get someone like Dum Dum as a pawn. He could be an unknowing pawn working for checkmate.

I need to start doing some more research for this draft! I haven't even planned enough to fill one side.
