I hate how this time of year tends to magnify the negatives. The holidays used to be so much easier and fun, now its a chore and everybody is miserable until they are over

THIS! Then again, I also work in retail (Dillard's), so I understand your pain. I worked in the office for a number of years, then transferred to another city. They put me on the sales floor and called it a promotion. I spent about 7 months on the sales floor until they recently gave me an assistant manager position. This past week, we were getting ready for our annual VIP Night. It was a Saturday night, the night before the event and I was walking the floor preparing the store to close. I mentioned to 2 associates that they needed to straighten their areas then I walked away to lock the doors. When I came back both of their areas were still trashed and they were behind their counters talking, so I kindly asked them again if they could clean up a little bit because we needed to make sure the store looked nice for the event. They literally asked me who I was to boss them around. I thought they were joking with me because we used to work together when I was on the floor and we used to joke around all the time but I politely told them that I was the assistant manager. They asked me why the managers needed an assistant, so again, I explained that they wanted to have a fresh set of eyes that looks at places that other managers wouldn't think to look. When I came in on Monday, I found out that one of the associates had filed a formal complaint against me for being "ageist" and for threatening them.

Anybody who knows me, knows that I literally can't be mean to people. I care too much what other people think of me, so needless to say, this has pretty much ruined my week. All because somebody didn't want to do their job and I called them on it.

I remember working retail this time of year.

I worked at Wal-Mart in the Sporting Goods for a few years and every year at closing I would get no help, but was expected to go help everyone else after I ran the entire department by myself all evening and getting coverage for lunch was damn near impossible.

Before that I was at Best Buy for two years and I think that might have actually been worse than Wal-Mart. I worked in the Video department and most of our stock was either in the warehouse or high up on shelves. We had a set of move-able stairs for getting stuff like the VCR's and camcorders down (this was in the late '90's), but when it came to the big TV's (27" & up) you couldn't really get those w/ the stairs. The store had 2 lift machines, 1 in the warehouse & 1 for the sales floor. The 1 in the warehouse wasn't a problem getting to for back there, but you couldn't fit it through the doors very well. The lift on the sales floor was almost always in Appliances, which was in the opposite corner of the store. Whenever we'd have to go get it not only would people in the aisles not move out of the fucking way, but someone from Appliances would follow us so that they could take it back as soon as we were finished w/ it. Add having to try and sell extended "service plans" and the slowest cashier lines EVAR and it just made for a miserable experience. To this day I try to avoid going to Best Buy between early November and mid January.

I did also work in a CD/Record store for a couple of X-Mas' and that was fine. Most of the staff were pretty cool and we had mostly great customers, there were a few weirdos though.

I'm doing ok. Had a week that I wasn't thrilled with, but it wasn't terrible. I'm in a pretty good mood as well.

Be happy! I am hoping that this weekend will turn things around for me. I don't have to work AND I am going home tonight. Granted I will be turning around and coming back tomorrow but at least I will be getting away from work for a few days.

Regarding the draft, I often wonder why some participants draft the same heroes that are normally on the teams. It's an opportunity to use your imagination and come up with some new combinations.

i agree in some ways. like this draft i have a theme in mind so i'm sticking with it.. but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna take villains who haven't fought whatever team i decide to make the villains for

I know my team started as a typical Young Justice type team, but I don't think you can make that kind of team without the starting 3. I'm trying to change it and make it more unique, but still make sense to me, in my other 4 picks.

Traci 13 is the wildcard/magic user, Connor Hawke is their fighting trainer/chaperone, and Blue Beetle is kind of a Green Lantern/second big gun replacement.
