Teen Titans Go Joining DC Nation Cartoon Block

Superherohype is reporting that Teen Titans GO! will be joining the DC Nation cartoon block, heralding the return of the popular cartoon series next year. Teen Titans GO! will be a half-hour comedy series featuring the popular Teen Titans characters made popular in the 2006 WB show. Featuring the original voice actors of Greg Cipes, Scott Menville, Khary Payton, Tara Strong and Hynden Walch, the show will be produced by Sam Register. No word if this will be the replacement for Young Justice, which has yet to be renewed for a third series.

So is this a different show to the old Teen Titans series? Or a Family Guy-esque return?

I don't know what to think about this. I liked the Teen Titans series but definitely not enough to want it to replace Young Justice. Would Cartoon Network be willing to have 2 shows based on DC's teen characters?

The only thing that I can think of that might work, would be to put the 2 shows on at different times of the year. Of course, this could also explain why the writers felt the need to make the 5 year jump and expand the team roster on Young Justice. If the new Teen Titans show was already in development, they would want to differentiate the shows, so instead of Dick Grayson as Robin they age him and promote him to Nightwing. This allows Teen Titans to use Dick as Robin without any confusion although I am at a loss to explain Beast Boy.

Heavens no. Besides, thanks to Jeph Loeb we now know that children are too stupid to understand ongoing stories.

They already have the shorts showing during the DC Nation block, and Green Latern and Young Justice really don't have anything to do with one another. I think the kids can sort it out.

But there's a difference between a short and a 30-minute episode. Character development, for one thing. YJ Robin and TT Robin have different experiences, different friends, even different handling. (TT is generally a Lighter and Softer show, with its faux-anime comedy expressions and such. I don't believe that YJ Robin is going to sprout a large teardrop or do a wacky double take anytime soon.)

Hopefully, the kids can indeed keep from being confused...

Wouldn't be surprising. Greg Weiseman still hasn't had a show last more than two seasons.

I skip them most of the time, the lifeguard one was pretty clever though.

I just couldn't handle a half hour chibi style show
