And 10k in 5 days does not seem at all impressive to me. I could be wrong, but that seems like it would have been considered a slow week in the past.

Even the complaints are dying down now, as more and more have just moved on, and given up.

It's just sad, all around.

It's shiny and new so I'm sure they generated some outside interest for the first week grand re-opening. I don't know that it will have any lasting impact though other than to drive a lot of longtime regulars away.

we should compare metrics! I dunno. In all the excitement here, I've probably doubled or tripled my post count. Not that the numbers matter as much as how fun it's been for me.

There are always people who will post there out of habit. I'd name names, but I don't want to encourage anyone to bash someone who's not here.

yeah, still, i think it would be a nice little experiment to see just how much we contribute to that site

I just go there to read comic-related news and make fun of people.

Come to think of it, that's what I did at the old Newsarama. :?

Well, I'm not posting. My original account is in limbo. I made a new account in the first few days and never got a confirmation. That sort of shook me out of my habit, but I am going back to read the complaining posts. A lot of the people complaining are familiar faces I'd rather see here.

I tried it. It's just a pain in the ass. The only thing I'm really doing there now is posting a link to the Outhouse when people bitch about the new board.

True. OTOH, a short term bounce in favor of long term losses ...

I don't know that it will have any lasting impact though other than to drive a lot of longtime regulars away.

Yep.

Well, if that was their goal, they are succeeding beyond all expectations! :)

yeah, it took a while to get my account up and running again but by the time that happened I was so frustrated with the navigation of the site I just decided to not even bother posting anymore.

the complaint threads are the only ones that interests me @talk

I love reading the complaint threads, both in Talk@ and in the User Talkback section.

They're fun.

For some reason my 'new' user account over there doesn't work anymore and my old user account now does.

I'm not all that annoyed but I'm becoming less and less invested in posting over there.

The Rama = one big circle jerk resulting in nothing much at all.

I not only don't see the point, I CAN'T. I'm logged in and all, but I couldn't post more than once an hour, the way it's set up.

How can you even have a real discussion about something the way quotes work, for instance?
