Nah seriously - I didn't start posting until 2004. And I'm pretty sure Emmabe started posting after me. Carrie predated that. So... depending on how "old" the Newsarama he remembers is, it may predate my presence there.

Certainly, if people remember some kind of significant interaction from Matt, it predates my posting. I have rarely seen Matt interact with the message board unless he was giving someone a vacation.

I joined in June '03 and any active interaction on Matt's part was before my time as well.

Yeah, when I've hung out with him at cons, I was really surprised how well he knew everybody from Talk@. I didn't think he read all that stuff. But he does. Knows everyone better than I do, actually. Likes them all better than I do too. :p
