Ord might be tied up with the X-Men stuff, I don't know. And if not, it wouldn't be a horrible choice because it's the first alien race in a movie (so they don't feel like ripoffs), they won't be replaying the Shi'ar stuff (since it's never been done, and there's no X-Men), and they'd just kind of take the place of the Shi'ar as one of the many random alien races out there (since the Shi'ar are almost certainly tied in with the X-Men). So this gets the cosmic ball rolling, then you can use the next set of movies to bring in Skrulls or set the stage for a Kree/Skrull war or Ultron or whatever, and these guys can be fully defeated.

That said, it would be a disappointment to see them instead of someone actually cool.

I think the idea that's a giant dragon (Fanfir or the Serpent or just a random unnamed dragon) from Asgard and his army is Dark Elves or something, makes a lot of sense.

I think the idea of him recruiting aliens also works, but would require a little more explanation.

I think if it ends up being Atlantis, I will not be able to deal with it. Especially if Namor shows up to save the fucking day. That would melt my fucking mind.

Well gotta remember the map in Iron Man 2, with the dot in the middle of the ocean, one of the dots was thor's hammer..

Not quite feeling Cap and Thor's new looks (I guess they help with the toy sales). That said...

That was awesome! I can't wait!

Just had an interesting thought. Iron Man and Yhe Dark Knight came out the same summer.

Since then, Marvel made Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor, Incredible Hulk , Ghost Rider 2 and X-Men: First Class, with Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man on the way.

DC made Green Lantern and a bunch of straight-to-DVD cartoons, with Dark Knight Rises on the way.

SOMEBODY came out ahead.

Personally, I think Loki calling in other bad Norse folk makes infinitely more sense and requires less explanation and gives more call for Thor to join this team. But either way...badass.

One more note, my LCS forwarded some theory they saw online that the army is Whedon using his pet creation the Ord from Breakworld. To which, may I say...DUMB

the only reason i thought atlantis is i thought, but may be wrong and its iron man 3, that this was supposed to end the first phase and start this second phase they are talking about

My only issue is that Namor would be type of actor that would be relativity known, but not a no-name look I'm Namor. And keeping relativity known actor from being found out or leaked on the set for this long of time is unheard of in any movie So I'm thinking not Atlantis or at least Namor appearance.

No No-Namor eh?

Yeah, the rights are not very clear at all and no one has come out to definitively list what is and isn't off limits. I could see that being the case, or I could see Marvel having the rights.

I wish there was a way to get rid of all that stuff and let everyone play nice together, but that's not going to ever happen.

I wish FF would revert but Fox is gearing up a reboot of FF and DD apparently to continue making them.

Though news is slow. I wonder exactly what they have to do to regain the rights. Wish Disney would just buy them back.

At least then they’d have everything but Spidey and X-Men who presumably will remain away forever. Or at least for a long long time.

But since those guys are the most separate anyway, it’s kinda ok

I agree with all of that.

Especially since I want an Avengers vs Doom movie, and a Punisher/Daredevil movie.

I also think that Marvel would treat the FF right. Give them to someone that understands the characters, has a solid vision, let them actually follow that vision, and would create a truly great movie with them.

I think Fox could maybe possibly make a good Daredevil movie, but I think he's a character that works really well on the fringes of a larger world where he's dealing with the smaller threats the others can't deal with. It could be a cool place to show the other side of someone like HYDRA or whatever and establish them before they wanted to use in a bigger movie. I'd love to see a situation where they built up guys like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, Daredevil, and whatnot either on TV or in movies. A Heroes for Hire show, a Daredevil show, and/or a Punisher show that are all set in the Marvel movie world would be pretty damn cool.

I didn’t really have a problem with the characters in the two FF movies (other than Doom). Or even the plots.

I just though the writing-pacing and dialogue-was off. And the actors, for the most part, could have been I don’t know less tv quality. More presence. A little more professional each movie all around. I thought FF2 was pretty good but some of its trappings were a little too low budget even if the movie itself was not.

I'd love the rights for FF would revert to Disney. Marvel Studios has pretty much proven to me they'd do a much better job than Fox. A truly great Fantastic Four movie is something I desperately want to see some day. The Incredibles is as close as I've gotten and while it's one of my favorite movies ever it's not the reall FF.

i would also say the director was a problem in addition to the writing

while ive heard complaints avengers is not cinematic enough, I didn’t see that in these trailers

but I think that’s pretty valid as a criticism of FF movies. They kinda seemed like big budget tv movies in many ways, the way they were shot.

Invisible Woman was horribly miscast as well, but other than that I agree.

I think Marvel would get someone who can actually give the movies scope, make them feel bigger, and have things feel more polished. And I think they'd do great tied in with a larger universe where Reed and Tony can work together or Doom can be seen as a global threat worrying other heroes or whatever.

That said, if the rumors of the guy that did Chronicle doing the new FF end up happening, I think he could maybe make a pretty awesome movie.

Definitely.

And I don't get the Avengers complaints based on these trailers. It looks like the biggest superhero movie so far.
