I wasn't at first. I was all "Oh, another zombie killing game." But it seems very cool. The weapons and melee attacks aren't like any others I've played and the zombies can CLIMB. I did not like that aspect as I was used to being able to hide high atop buildings.

Good to hear! I put in a pre-order at Walmart for that earlier in the year (to get a $5 VUDU credit). Then the game was delayed from its March release :(

That seemed to be the major watch word this year: delay. Virtually all AAA titles have been pushed in one form or another.

I'm looking for an open world RPG now that The Witcher 3 has been delayed. Those are the only three games that I'm possibly interested in for the rest of the year. All the 2015 games are too far off for me to care right now.

I'm also interested in creating my own game with Project Spark. Did you get to play it? If so, how deep is it?

The Evil Within is sadistic. Bethesda always has a good set up and this year was no different. They do what I like to call dinner and a show where they give you a video that gives background and explanation of a few games and then they release you to play them. This year was The Evil Within and a Team Fortress 2 clone called Battlecry.

The Evil Within's intro video showed camera reactions of people who played the demo and them jumping and freaking out. They tried to create a dark, creepy space that was freezing. You wear noise canceling headphones and had these little alcoves so you felt alone as you played. Two levels, both mid-way in the game, so I won't spoil anything plot-wise.

Difficulty levels ramp up FAST. Those weren't available for us to choose, but the one I am very curious about is Akumu or "nightmare" which is supposed to have no HUD and be utterly unforgiving.

Navigation and controls really reminded me of early Resident Evil which made sense considering the creator, so you should be pretty happy if that's what you're missing. Also felt like a lot of inspiration was taken from Amensia. Customization is a big deal as you can upgrade virtually all stats and weapons, but have to pick carefully since you can't upgrade everything. Stealth is important since any noise draws things to you. And you have very few weapons so you have to conserve everything.

Atmosphere is tense and creepy throughout A lot of attention to detail in the surroundings which I liked. Music and ambient noise really help set the tone. For enemies, they are hard to kill. Even if you kill an enemy, it will come back to life and scare the shit out of you unless you burn the body. And there's a Nemesis-type enemy you can't kill and can only run from.

One puzzle I played involved inserting electrical probes into an exposed brain in order to open certain memories and emotions. Never had to do that before. I am not usually a fan of survival horror, but this was compelling.

The other one, Battle Cry, was a lot of fun. It's Team Fortress 2 basically, but with set in a world where gun powder is no longer legal, so all weapons are mainly swords or electric guns. Art style is gorgeous, but the same guy who did Dishonored (which I loved). Since it's free to play, it makes money off of buying outfits, another Team Fortress 2 combo.

Sunset Overdrive was a lot more fun than I expected. It's really, really fast paced. Pretty polished, too. Easy to pick up and play. I'll probably buy first week so long as reviews are decent. Hard to gauge a whole game off of a highly-polished demo, but if the game is as fun as the demo, I'm in.

I played Spark Last year. It was pretty complete then. Not a lot has changed since which surprised me. It's fun and has really nice controls and customization (Conker was a nice surprise), but it still feels... lacking to me. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and the trailer looked nice. UI is very nice, but depth feels pretty shallow. You can construct to your heart's content and craft this amazing level, but in the end, the platformer side of it is really boring, so crafting a cool level in a boring game... is still a boring game. Who knows, the demo could have been severely limted, though. I don't think I'll buy it. If you're considering it, make sure to watch all the demos, reviews, and impressions before jumping in.

Dragon Age was impressive. Not a fan of the series. Nothing against it, just not my genre, but the new engine is breathtaking. Magic effects look amazing and it plays really smooth.

The Witcher had an amazing demo that we got to watch but couldn't play. Got to play a demo of 1886: The Order. Very short, but it was fun as well.

Hellmutt, I couldn't find any home codes. I even asked a few Sony employees and they said they didn't think there were any this year. However, if you're interested in buying Gauntlet on Steam, I have a code for a free helm. Funny story: for promo for Gauntlet, they had a food truck and were giving away free turkey legs so long as you tweeted NEED FOOD BADLY.

As a consolation, the gauntlet codes is yours, or I can mail you a Sony lanyard or a large t-shirt for the game Dying Light (http://dyinglightgame.com/) PM me if you're interested.

Happy to share my impressions of what I got to play if anyone wants to hear. Spent the full 3 days there, so I got to play/watch almost everything I could on the show floor.

I really appreciate you looking for me. Thanks so much. I'm not a steam user so please pass Gauntlet on to someone who can use it.

Ok guys, let me know of some good games to look for to start playing. I'm planning to get my usual likes but want to branch out some. I've personally never played any of the Batman games... they any good? My friend said to get call of duty so we can play together.

Anyone have any luck trying a Gremlins dvd that did work.
Maybe a really old one since the special edition one doesn't work

I also couldn't get the DVD to work. But the Gremlins 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray does work. And it looks like it was finally UV enabled so it will propagate across UV connected accounts now.
My most wanted UV! ... My freebies! (Usually games) I'll try to give movies away here. :)

You all are needed!

Our oldest is very ill. She has a yet one more condition that is life-changing and creates great risks for her in the future. Your prayers, thoughts, power, spirit, karma, wiccan energy or whatever you can send to her will be much appreciated. These are things no parent should ever have to hear. Today was a MUCH better day and her infectious smile and laughter have been much appreciated by all.

So very sorry to hear this. :( Hoping for the absolute best for you and your little one.

It's wonderful that today was a good day, though. Here's to more of them. :)

This is very sad to hear. I can't even imagine what you're going through. If you ever need a friend to talk to you know I am always there. For once I am at a loss for words. Another PM has been sent to you. Don't worry about responding to it.

Yes, it was! It was positioned in an odd spot near Alien Isolation so I played them back to back. It was an odd juxtaposition for sure.

Ori was just lovely. Reminded me a LOT of Limbo if you played that. Score and images were hauntingly beautiful. Demo was brief, but the mechanics are simple and clean. Definitely going to buy that when it comes out.

Alien Isolation was AMAZING. While The Evil Inside made me jump, Alien Isolation really gave me the creeps and lingered with me long after. Captures the spirit of the first movie in such a brilliant way.
