I know that Emma Stone has expressed her desire to have Gwen's fate in the movies stay as true to the original story as possible. If they are going to kill Gwen, I would want them to keep her death as ambiguous as it was in the comics where we don't know if it was Osborn who killed her or Peter when he tried to save her. I just don't know if I want them to pull the trigger on her in the sequel or wait for the third movie. It would certainly be interesting for the third movie to concentrate solely upon Peter seeking revenge against Osborn though.

I assume that they will probably recast the character for the next movie...but I just want to know who it was! If it was supposed to be Osborn, then I want to know just how in the hell he could just appear and disappear from Dr. Connors's cell.
One thing that I did find interesting was that this movie did not leave the Dr. Connors's fate unknown. We know he is in prison...I wonder if we will see his reptilian alter ego later in a certain sextet, perhaps with sinister schemes and such.

Good movie
BAD Spider-Man movie. All you needed to do to revamp the Spider_man series was re release Spider-Man 1 but replace Kirsten Dunst with Emma Stone. And make the Goblin costume more Green Goblin less Power Ranger. And at the end kill off Eddie Brock so that Spider-Man 3 can never happen again. Or do what they did with X-Men First Class and Superman Returns make a movie in the same universe as the first two Spider-Man movies but don't acknowledge anything that happened in the crappy chapters (s) of the franchise..

I am mixed about it. I really didn't like the whole take on the origin. It's more powerful having Spider-Man become a hero because he realized he failed to help and Uncle Ben died. That's the entire catalyst for his change to a hero.
Here he became a vengeful punk and I didn't feel he became a hero until he saved that kid. Which doesn't feel right for Spider-Man.
The cast was by a large better but the story wasn't.
Also the Lizard did indeed look like a Goomba.

He became vengeful in Spidey 1 too.. did he not chase the guy to the warehouse?
The same thing played out here, just in a different way, because the entire first half of the movie was basically the origin, instead of just the first 20 minutes or however long in the Raimi movie... The themes of "with great power comes great responsibility" were still there, with him realizing he had the power to help people and do something good during the bridge scene.

Yeah he was vengeful but that was BEFORE he knew it was the same dude. Once he did that changed everything. That was the momement with "with great power comes great responsibility" meant something to him. To me that's more powerful to me.

I don't disagree with you, but seeing as how this is the millionth time we've seen a Spidey origin, any changes that didn't completely fuck up the character are ok with me.
