With Marvel Comics characters burning up the movie theaters in “The Avengers,” ABC-TV says they won’t be ignored on the small screen, either.

But they may not show up for a while.

ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee told a conference call Tuesday that he hopes “The Hulk” will be ready for the 2013-2014 season.

“We had hoped it would be ready this year, but that didn’t happen,” said Lee.

He also said that if it works out, it could air on ABC or ABC could sell it to another network like Fox.

“Wherever it would work best,” said Lee.

He said a show based on Marvel’s Jessica Jones was not picked up and that while it’s not dead, “Other projects are more toward the front of the queue now.”

He said ABC continues to work with Marvel mastermind Stan Lee and hopes to bring more Marvel characters to television.

No to the Hulk right now. Let him have a movie starring Ruffalo.

They've been talking about it for a while. I think it was Del Torro or something who was involved.

EDIT: Oops it's del Toro

Not Hulk. If they want to conquer TV too I'd go with more street level shows. Maybe Daredevil or Heroes for Hire. Or Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

AKA Jessica Jones might have worked, too.
