I am more worried about it being WB than it being Snyder, because outside of the recent Batman movies, WB just doesn't seem to get these movies at all, and I think they lucked out with Nolan.

Batman is the weakest part of Nolan's movies.. whether that's a good thing or not is clearly up for debate, as that shouldn't be the case.. but IMO, Nolan's movies relied on the plot rather than the character. Both movies, but TDK especially, are terrific crime movies on their own without even figuring the Batman aspect into it.

I don't think it's fair to say that the realistic Batman angle is the gimmick which drove the movies.. I think that was true for the hype leading up to the first one, but beyond that, no.

I would have liked both movies more if Batman wasn't in them. And if had cast better leading ladies. One looked like she had a stroke, the other looked like a junkyard dog.

Bale hasn't be exactly stellar either. So far Marvel has had a lot better luck casting their heroes then DC
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine > Brandon Routh's Superman
RDJ's Iron Man > Christian Bale's Batman

Bale is an odd duck to me. He's been fantastic in some roles.

But his Terminator and his Batman have been lackluster compared to the other stuff he's done.

It happens. People said the same thing about Hayden Christensen IIRC. You can still be a good actor and not be right for every role.

Yeah I wasn't even gonna go the route of comparing any of DC's comics to film attempts with those of Marvel Comics, because really there is no comparison. Some of Marvel's worst efforts are head and shoulders above some of DC's best. I think that Dark Knight is one of the most overrated movies of all time, not that it is a bad movie, I like it I think it just gets more credit than it is due.

It would've been better if they replaced Hayden Christensen with a piece of wood for the amount of range he showed in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

This is an interesting discussion topic. What actors were good in their comic book role and which of those ruled.

I think RDJ's Iron Man beats all others by a wide margin.

However one could make the argument: is it really acting if your a handsome, wealthy, substance abusing, womanizing, celebrity playing the part of a handsome, wealthy, substance abusing, womanizing, celebrity?

hide and watch, Twigg. will be better received than Superman.

Didn't Twigg think that Kick-Ass was the greatest comic book movie or was that Scott Pilgram that he thought so of?

Yeah I think RDJ's is by far and a way the best with his portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Chris Evans I feel did a great job in both his roles as Steve Rogers/Captain (which I thought was a questionable choice at first) and as Johnny Storm/Human Torch.

Edward Norton was superior to Eric Bana in every way when it came to playing both Hulk/Banner. Gonna have to wait and see how the new guys does in the role but I would have preferred Norton to have remained.

Chris Hemsworth was very believable as the Norse Thunder God, I know before they cast him I couldn't think of anyone else that could have pulled of the role.

Hugh Jackman while not exactly looking like Wolverine from the comics, really excelled in the role. Patrick Steward was the only choice to play Prof. X and Ian McKellan was wonderful as Magneto. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were also excellent in playing those parts as well.

Wesley Snipes was entertaining as hell playing Blade, Ryan Reynolds was hilarious as Hannibal King, serviceable as Wade Wilson briefly, and god fucking awful as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.

Halle Berry sucked as Storm, and was dreadful as Catwoman. Nic Cage was a poor choice to play Ghost Rider even though I did enjoy those movie.

Jack was much better than Heath at playing the Joker IMHO, but both were great for the movies they were in. I still think Michael Keaton was the best of all the Batman with Clooney being the worst, and Kilmer and Bale being somewhere in the middle.

Christopher Reeves is the definitive movie version of Superman and I doubt that ever changes. Routh did a good job with what he was given, and I think if the script had been better his performance would have been as well, he just got a raw deal. The new guy looks the part but I still have little interest in the new movie thus far.

Ron Pearlman is the only one that I think comes close to being better that RDJ as far as casting goes, because he was damn near spot on perfect in the role of Hellboy.

Thats all I can think of right now.

RDJ was born to play Tony Stark. That is the best casting of all-time. It's not even fair to compare anyone to it.. the guy doesn't have an off-switch for that role. That's him, camera on or off.
