Excellent article here that I wanted to share.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/editorials/2 ... ith-twenty

I agree mostly with what the author says but this part really stuck out to me the most:

Which brings me back to my initial point…I watch to be entertained. I also have been watching wrestling for a substantial period of time, meaning that I do have an understanding of the business and a desire to see an intelligent and successful direction for the product. I simply choose not to allow this desire to overcome my ability to enjoy the moments that evoke an emotional response. The day that this becomes the case is the day that I stop watching.

In the end, I have no problems with anybody expressing their opinions or disgust regarding the direction of the product. I only ask the same respect for those people who prefer to watch as a fan rather than a critic.

That last line really struck a chord and hit home to me. I really think that the majority of most of the so called "IWC" fall into that category, and I myself was there at some point to where I was being so overly critical of the product that I was thoroughly unable to enjoy it in anyway. Now watching with my son, who is just so into wrestling that it's not even funny, I am watching purely as a fan again, right now I am loving wrestling as much now or even more than when it was in it's "prime".

The flip side of that is that, of course, most people want to give shit to those who are being critical of the product they don't enjoy.

Tis true as well, but I believe that at least most of us in this thread have begun to finally respect one another and our differing opinions on the current state of whatever wrestling product we are watching. Now unfortunately that can't be said for all the other wrestling forums I post on, some of the people....just brutal.

Well put.

There are some wresting forums out there that I've encountered that I wouldn't post in to save my life for that very reason.

Indeed, this is a remarkably easy going wrestling thread. Knowing the host forum makes that doubly remarkable :-D

And all came out of it for the better. I still don't enjoy TNA but I am in love with ROH and a lot of Japanese stuff thanks to syxx and Mr. Day! I never miss an episode of ROH on Saturday nights now and have ordered a few or their dvds as well.

You're welcome when it comes to Japanese wrestling. I love introducing that stuff to people. :-D

Day 76.

I watched PWG's Are You Adequately Prepared to Rock?!

It takes place in a Jewish Rec Center, so there's an abundance of Jewish jokes on commentary.

The first portion of the show is pretty much shite. Lots of piss-poor wrestling with the exception of Super Dragon/B-Boy vs. The Briscoes, which is a pretty decent match.

The second portion of the show is better. There's a strong tag match between X-Foundation and the Ballard Bros, which includes a nice little arena-brawl and a Ballard brother getting his head banged on piano keys. A good Joey Ryan vs. Adam Pearce match which ends in shenanigans to set up a potential feud between Joey Ryan and Super Dragon. A decent TJ Perkins/Vito Thomaselli match. The main event is easily the best match of the show: AJ Styles vs. Kazarian vs. Christopher Daniels. Watching it today takes away the benefit of it being fresh, but it's still solid with a great and creative finish. Styles picks Daniels up for the Styles Clash, and Kazarian hits Styles with the Wave of the Future then pins Daniels. Each man gives a promo at the end ranging from good (Daniels) to decent (Styles) to horrid (Kazarian).

Match of the Day goes to AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Kazarian.

xshane666x wrote:WAY off subject, but i have a cool story about the Miz...

I, like Miz, grew up in N.E. Ohio. My best friend moved to Philly, and i just got back a few days ago from there, after going to watch him get married.

While out there he befriended a girl from mtv's Real World. She was just on the finale show hosted by Miz and knowing my buddy Jason is a fan, text him a pic of her and Miz, to which he replied, "Tell Miz his fellow Ohio brother says he's AWESOOOOOME!"

Well she told Miz about how big a fan Jason is and how he just got married, so Miz decides to hook my buddy and his new wife up with free tix to RAW this coming Monday!

I just thought that was super cool of him to do for a fan and wanted to share.

Sorry for steering off subject.

the current crop of guys, who are all basically stuck on the mid card like Miz/Dolph/Zack and a feew others all seem like class acts and nothing but good guys.

I've decided that the best thing that can come from WM is if the Rock and Cena do the normal stare down thing and then start hugging and laughing only to grab a microphone and say "April Fools!"
