I can see where some would be unhappy with paying money and then getting that opener, and in that respect I agree. But as a storytelling device, that was absolutely perfect. And don't give me anything about how it doesn't get either guy over. It protected Danielson and made Sheamus seem superbadass. The only shortcoming is there is no actual match, which would have been a good one. I'm sure they'll have one on Smackdown something towards the end of April or at Extreme Rules. And mind you, you're talking to the biggest Bryan Danielson fan on this forum.

Kane vs. Randy Orton was one of those "Everyone knows Orton is going to win so let's swerve 'em." Whatever. Match was decent, at best.

Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes didn't get enough time to gel into anything, but that was to be expected. The way I understand it, most matches will be short to protect Punk/Jericho, 'taker/Triple H, and Rock/Cena. I do think they could have done a little more to make this moment bigger for Big Show. The fantasy booker in me took over and I really thought it would have been a great time/moment to turn Cody face by having him give Big Show props for winning.

Not enough wrestling for being 52 mins in, though.

I agree with your thoughts on the opening match, somewhat, but I think that works much much much better if it's not the opening match. It's just a very unsatisfying way to start the show. Instead of getting the crowd excited (like Cody vs Big Show could have or even Kane/Orton), you get everyone pissed that a World Title was lost in 2 seconds. It's not so much what they did, but how they did it and the spot on the show.

That said, as a story telling device I totally agree and it definitely opens the door for some interesting stuff going forward.

1. I don't mind him winning if like speculated he sticks around for a bit, but if he is gone in a week and doesn't come back for a while, he should have lost.

2. My stream was coming in and out but what I caught he was being carried by Cena, a match this big he should have been more prepared (if I'm wrong let me know), have more matches to get ready, training with Curt Hawkins for a few weeks is not the same as going out in a ring and preforming, he also seemed winded a lot which again wouldn't happen if he prepared better,

3. While he might be by far the greatest entertainer in WWE history, his wrestling sucks it always has and always will

This is all just a matter of personal opinion I was never a huge fan of the rock even when he was active years ago so i might be bias

i said that earlier, out of all the times he came up on top with all the current stars...I know it wasn't his booking or decisions at times but still...karma? maybe? lol

I thought The Rock moved and looked fine considering A) he is never the most technically sound guy in the ring and B) 2nd match in 9 years or however long he was gone in a main event at wrestlemania

Last year's was a great match.

This year's was a great story.

I think we've seen the last of Triple H in the ring.

I 100% agree with that assessment of this match vs last year. I didn't care for the build to the match, but in the ring I was interested in the story (even if it was predictable).

I hated hated hated Undertaker helping HHH to the back and the hug on the ramp by all three guys.

I think your right if it happen in the middle, would have worked better maybe...the opening match should be the one that gets the crowd into the night

It could still work if he does that tomorrow night. The total heel move of trying to do the People's Elbow for the finish, and the shot of him sitting there in disbelief under the WM sign were cool.

If Cena doesn't attack him tomorrow night, then I hate the ending. And if Rock isn't going to be around for at least a rematch or two, I hate the ending. But it's still salvageable. And it was a decent match.

Yeah. When he hit signatures and move combo's he looked amazing.

It's his transitioning into different chains that showed where the rust really lay.

Yeah, if you do it later in the show, then it's a shocker after you've already got a few good matches (in theory) and done some stuff. As an opener, it's just not very satisfying. Especially for a World Title.

Pretty sure he stiffed Cena a couple of times, given the welt around Cena's eye and the small cut on his face.

Overall, I thought it was an OK show.

As I said, Bryan/Shamus is a decent storytelling idea, but it was one of the matches I really wanted to see, so it sucks that there was no match. And just not a good way to start a show.

Cody vs Big Show was OK, but nothing special.

Kane vs Orton was just OK, but had a shock ending that doesn't really do much of anything and continues a feud that just feels like filler. It was just kind of there, and I'm sure they'll fight again in some extreme match next month, and that will be that. There's nothing to this feud, it's clearly filler because of the freak injury to Wade, and Orton should be in something better.

The Diva match was terrible, and I changed the channel to Bridesmaids during it. So, thanks for letting me see the bit with the toasts.

The right team won the GM match, so that's good, and there were a couple fun spots, but it was just a typical RAW level mess to get a bunch of guys on the show and nothing more. The ending with Ryder was also kind of nothing, considering it made no sense for him to be back with her. :smt102

There was way way too much filler stuff. I didn't need to see Flo Rida stand there trying to look tough before throwing Slater into a wall, or see Funkasaurus given more time than a World Title match so that he could have some dancers, or the "celebrity" match, or a bunch of the other crap, but that kind of stuff happens every year. :smt102

Punk and Jericho put on a hell of a match. Loved Jericho trying to get Punk DQ'd (and loved Ace and Punk backstage and his first act as dual GM to be another "Fuck You" to Punk). Loved the ending. It lived up to my expectations, though I'm a little surprised Punk just made him tap out. I really wonder where they go from here with both guys. I'd love to see Bryan traded to RAW and sent after Punk.

Like I said before, HHH vs Undertaker was a good story more than a good match. The Cell was useless and didn't really need to be there at all. I don't like seeing Undertaker show that much emotion after the match, but whatever.

I thought Cena vs Rock was fine (though both guys having songs played was ridiculously long and annoying). I don't get the ending without turning Cena, but that's a wait and see situation.

Overall it was an OK WM saved by three matches, but only one really great one.

Yeah, I noticed that during the match as well. My friend and I were both talking about how it looked like he nailed him at least a couple times.

So I was glad Rock won. A clean, face Cena victory would have been stupid and led to the same Cena character we've seen and hated for years. A loss to Rock, however, should shake his confidence and make him reevaluate himself... preferably this leads to a heel turn, but no matter what it should lead to character development, which is a good thing. I was glad to see Punk win as well, so overall I was pleased with the latter half of Wrestlemania. All the matches other than the big three kinda sucked though.

My Wrestlemania thoughts:

Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus was fucking worthless. I hate Sheamus' push and this just capped it. It was an unnecessary squash.

Team Johnny backstage was good.

Orton vs. Kane was surprising, but smart. If Kane is such a monster, he can't keep losing so this was a good result. Decent match.

Santino/Foley/Simmons was great.

Big Show vs. Cody was predictable and sucked. If Big Show has the second most losses at WM, who is first? HHH?

Divas match was terrible.

Undertaker vs. HHH was good. It reminded me of how WWE matches used to be during the Attitude era. It was nice and brutal with JR on commentary where he belongs. It was a bit of a rehash of last year though with Undertaker just getting brutally beaten. This time though, HHH was brutally beaten after. If this was the first time they fought, it would have been a show stealer, but we've seen this show before.

HBK was being a little pussy. It was annoying.

That looked like HBK was saying goodbye to UT at the end of the match. If it is his last match, which I doubt, he'll be missed. Cool moment at the end with the group hug.

They were chanting "this is awesome" Lawler, not "this is amazing."

Cool to see the Hall of Famers as always. Edge getting choked up was sad. He still had more matches in him.

Heath Slater and Flo Rida was stupid.

Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy was exactly what I expected. Brie Bella > Nikki Bella. Is Ryder a heel now? I haven't been watching Smackdown. The right team won. I figured they would win because Miz is going to start on an Undertaker like streak and the commentary after showed that. The monkey flip on Ziggler by Ryder was awesome. I hope Ziggler gets a long title run this year. Is it really necessary for Eve to get double duty at WM?

A-Rod and Torrie Wilson? Lol. I'd love to be in a Torrie Wilson-Kelly Kelly sandwich though.

Can those seats behind the entrance ramp see anything?

Jericho vs. Punk best pure wrestling match with some cool counters. The counter into the Walls of Jericho off the top rope was awesome. I like how these guys can tell a story. I love that Y2J hit Punk with knees when he was in the Anaconda Vice instead of just punching him in the face. Did Jericho mess with Punk's hair after the pin in a "nice job" way?

I think Punk winning means that Cena is about to win the main event.

Why were there only 3 pilots, but 2 planes?

Funkasaurus brought his momma? WTF is this shit? I was hoping it was Mae Young or something.

I can't believe a year has passed since this match was announced. Unbelievable. I may not have liked all of the buildup, but I'm super excited. I really like that "We Are Young " song.

Diddy sucks. So does MGK.

They are really making it obvious that Cena is going to win with the old woman at ringside and the speech by that MGK guy. I hope I'm wrong.

Flo Rida has some ugly and overweight dancers.

Rock vs. Cena. I liked that Cena was wrestling like a heel. I was hoping he would do that and he did. The match was ok and there were too many rest holds.

Lots of "If Cena Wins We Riot Signs." There was one that said, "get the torches and pitchforks ready."

The crowd was great.

Rock wins! Rock wins! Rock wins! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I was disappointed by this Wrestlemania, but I'm still euphoric about this ending that I'm not really sure what score I would give it!

Jericho totally rubbed Punk's hair. My friend and I commented on it.

And I had the exact same thought about the pilots.
