Lord Tensai beat John Cena and Brock Lesnar did not.

Lord Tensai I seriously doubt will ever headline the way Brock will

Maybe it was a last minute change for Cena to win the match, maybe he refused to job to Brock. As punishment is asked to "take a break"....it's an out there theory i admit

Watch the match. It was awesome. Brock looked incredible.

It doesn't matter if he looked incredible or not, Cena still beat him cleanly in their first match in eight years and that's going to contradict everything they've been building Lesnar up as.

I think it's hard to push a guy as an unbeatable monster if he loses.

But I didn't watch the show, so I have no idea how amazing or terrible Brock looked.

If Brock gets a title shot next month against Punk, he'll be pushed as the guy that owns Ace and can get whatever he wants, and with him not really deserving the shot based on in-ring stuff, he'll be a guy that pisses off a lot of fans and a lot of the other wrestlers (faces and heels) if they want to push it that way. Or it could be a multiple person match with Tensai and/or Jericho, and Brock And you have the whole "I beat Cena so bad he can't be here, so I don't care if I lost" angle with Brock, as others have mentioned. It slightly changes his role, but as a heel that's fine and flip flopping shit like that works.

It sounds like a great show, and I wish I had been able to see it.

Did you watch the match?

Anyone that challenges Brock tonight is going to look like an automatic underdog that is going to get their ass kicked. The match was a lot like Brock vs Shane Carwin in the UFC but with the roles reversed.

from WM till now the WWE has, IMO gotten in backwards
Cena should have beat the Rock so that when Brock came back he could not only knock Cena off of his cloud but also show that he is no Rock and he can come back after years away and beat the face of the company

If the Brock had won the WWE would be saying that any ex-wrestler can go away for years and still be as good as the guys that do this everyday - meaning today's product sucks (I know, I know: WWE will never be as good as it was when we were kids and kids these days need to stay off our lawn...)

Brock can easily come out tonight and put Cena on the shelf and with his contract force Johnny Ace to give him a title shot and still be a monster

Would the story have been better if Cena had beaten the Rock only to get squashed by Brock - Yes, but having Cena loose to two newly returned wrestlers would have been horrible for the WWE product.

The match between Cena/Brock was fine. I waiver on whether or not it was great. I genuinely felt sympathy for Cena getting squashed so hard in the first however-many minutes and was comfortable with him winning because Brock "could have beat him" at any point in the first twenty minutes.

Cena got his groove back, even if he's been vacation'd, and Brock can say "if this was a real sport, I would've won the second I knocked your ass to the ground and you couldn't get up. WWE sent all those referees and trainers to get you mobile. It was a joke. At that point, I didn't care about winning a faux match. I just wanted to beat you out of the business."

Day 120 (yesterday).

I watched CM Punk vs. Austin Aries from Death Before Dishonor III. What an excellent match. The story here is that CM Punk is on his final night with ROH and this is his last opportunity to take the ROH World Championship. We all know how it goes, but it's still so much fun getting there. Punk completely out-classes Aries at first, then Aries takes over, and then Punk kicks out of everything and finally puts Aries away to win the ROH World Championship. The crowd starts off 70-30 in favor of Punk, but by the end of it it's 100% Punk. And the pop when he wins... Just a fantastic match.

Match of the Day goes to CM Punk vs. Austin Aries, of course.

I thought about this and I can't wait to see what happens tonight, so I guess that ending and finish did do its job

I finished off the Steiner comp today with one intriguing match. Thus far, this DVD had been hit or miss. So how would the last match rate?

It was the Steiners and Scott Norton vs. The Road Warriors - Hawk, Animal, and POWER WARRIOR~! The match played out as you might expect. The Steiners and the regular Warriors refused to sell for each other. Norton was a badass. Power Warrior ended up being the face-in-peril. In the end, both the Doomsday Device and the Steiner Bulldog were not enough to end the match. Instead, the finish was an avalance powerslam by Hawk giving the Road Warriors the win. It was a fun match.

Overall, the DVD is easily worth $1.50 to see Scott hit Vader with a frankensteiner. But outside of that? It's not the best comp I've watched so far.

Match of the Day goes to the Steiner Bros/Scott Norton vs. The Road Warriors, of course.

Power Warrior? Who the heck is he, Japanese guy?

I watched the match and it still doesn't negate what I said earlier. Plus, those challengers that now face Brock will look like automatic underdogs because they were already automatic underdogs especially now in comparison to John Cena.
