According to a source within TNA, a major issue which lead to tension between Ric Flair and TNA was the handling of the Gut Check segment on iMPACT! featuring Alex Silva.

Flair reportedly went off script when he chose Silva as the winner, which is now causing issues for TNA for two reasons. First of all Flair went into business for himself, which has upset people. Secondly, Silva is from Quebec, requiring TNA to spend more time and money getting him a US Visa if they want to use him regularly.

I knew that guy didn't look like he was meant to be signed. Explains a lot.

That's hilarious but I find it hard to believe. It was taped and they could have easily changed it instead of hiring the guy.

Pretentiousness and ESPN are not things that belong in the same sentence. ESPN is anti-pretentious and so lowest common denominator that it's problems are on the exact opposite end of the spectrum.

Grantland has fun articles a lot of the time, and the Masked Man columns are always great. As Frag said, it's nice to see actual decent writing applied to wrestling instead of the terrible stuff you see everywhere else.

I read that TNA is going to sue WWE for stealing talent. They have never heard of the term "Don't poke the bear" apparently.

Or a better way to look at it is them sticking up for themselves finally. It's easy to sit there and word it the way you did, because it kind of doesn't look at just they're suing over - which is Ric Flair. And in this case, TNA might have one hell of a damn case on their hands giving the WM-shenanigans.

Day 145.

I continued the Bryan Danielson comp today. The match was another six-man: Bryan Danielson/Doug Williams/Wade Chism (?) vs. GO Shiozaki/Ricky Marvin/Yoshinari Ogawa. This match was much different than the one I watched last night. First, the one last night had tons of star power and felt like it could have been an upper midcard match on any show. This match felt like an opener on any show. Not as much star power, here. Plus, Wade Chism sucks. There was also some spots early on that would have worked well in CHIKARA or even ROH in some cases, but in the world of Japanese wrestling it felt weirdly out of place (everyone headscissors each other and another spot). The match wasn't horrible by any means, but it wasn't as fun or exciting as last night's. GO won the match, pinning Wade with a moonsault.

Match of the Day goes to Bryan Danielson/Doug Williams/Wade Chism vs. GO Shiozaki/Ricky Marvin/Yoshinari Ogawa, of course.

That match would have been from when Danielson was still billing himself as American Dragon wouldn't it? The match itself sounds like an early card comedy match to tell the truth. Not that it all that surprising with the names here at the point their careers were at if I'm getting the time period right.

If WWE loses, do you really think they will just sit back and let it go? Vince McMahon is not really known for letting things slide unless he can somehow make money off of it.

Just found this match on youtube. I saw this match live in person with Harley Race's WLW promotion, and it was about a week before the Kobashi/Joe match. I got a polaroid with Kobashi, Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA that night too. Also, I'm pretty sure Kobashi and Trevor Murdoch (who was WWE Tag champ at the time) went into the bathroom and did a bunch of blow after the show.

If TNA is in the right Dixie will appeal to Papa Bear aka Bob Carter to bankroll a legal fight that will given WWE a black eye and drop legal fees on them.

Panda, TNA's parent company that Carter controls makes WWE look like ROH in comparison.

Here's the story:

TNA filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday against WWE and former office worker for both companies, Brian Wittenstein, according to the Nashville City Paper website. TNA alleges that Wittenstein shared contractual information that he had gathered during his time with TNA (from 2008 to 2011) with WWE, where he worked briefly in 2012.

"This wrongful disclosure and misappropriation allows WWE to effectively price TNA out of the market and cause irreparable harm to TNA’s business and profitability,” the lawsuit reads. "WWE now knows the confidential details of TNA’s business affairs including its marketing and business strategy and analysis, which leaves TNA vulnerable to WWE’s unfair position in the market. An injunction issued on Tuesday demands that WWE and Wittenstein return any confidential information he gathered during his three-year TNA employment.

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt responded to the lawsuit. "Our reaction is that no good deed ever goes unpunished," McDevitt told the Nashville City Paper. "What the WWE did here is what you would hope any company would do in these circumstances it found itself in." To read The full story, visit Nashvillecitypaper.com:

The story states that WWE waited three weeks to share the information with TNA regarding Wittenstein's actions and subsequent dismissal. It also states that Ric Flair attempted to terminate his TNA contract and failed to show for dates in May, and company officials now feels the timing is "suspect." A judge granted a temporary restraining order to block WWE and Wittenstein from destroying confidential information until the June 11 injunction hearing.

Wittenstein worked briefly as Michael Hayes's assistant. He was not a popular figure within the WWE creative department nor in several TNA circles. As for Flair, this could derail any plans he or other TNA wrestlers may have had about signing with WWE, as company officials may be leery about making deals with TNA talent until the legal matter is resolved.

What's Vince going to do? Risk further legal action by tampering with more contracts?

TMZ article about exactly what happened:
It all went down during a match between Jericho and C.M. Punk -- who was proudly waving the flag in the ring. Jericho took the flag away, crumpled it up and kicked the flag out of the ring ... and that's when police stepped in and put a stop to the event.

We're told Jericho was informed that desecrating the national flag is a crime in Brazil ... punishable by incarceration.

Cops gave Jericho an option -- apologize to the arena ... or go to jail. Chris chose the former ... grabbing the mic and telling the crowd he immediately regretted his actions. Cops allowed the event to continue.

Would suck if this is how he marks the end of his career.

my guess would be he is suspended until the end of the tour, or this could be a work for him to take time off to be with his band, of course i think it is against the law to do that sort of thing in Brazil, if he did it in America it would probably slide so it might be legit
