Backstage Update From RAW On The Rock's Injury, Why CM Punk Was Kept Off Tonight's RAW

Source: PWInsider
- CM Punk was kept off tonight's RAW to sell his loss to The Undertaker and because he's banged up. As noted, he will be on next week's RAW.

- The Rock's torn abductor and abdominal muscles injury is reportedly a legitimate injury. The story is that Rock left WrestleMania abruptly after learning of the injury. He immediately went home to get treatment because he has to film Hercules soon.

There was initially heat on The Rock because many within WWE were not aware of the injury. The heat is gone although there was grumbling among some wrestlers that if they can work hurt, Rock could have at least came out and done a promo. WWE was not informed of Rock's injury until well into this afternoon, causing mass re-writes to RAW and the chaos that comes along with it.

Juan Cena

DANG!

Postby Juan Cena » Tue Apr 09, 2013 9:41 am

I really think they should've ended last night with Taker coming down to the ring for a staredown with Cena, setting up a WM XXX match between the two, instead of RyBack keel turn. It would have basically been Taker anointing Cena as his opponent for the supposed "Last Ride." Could have set up a year of Taker mind games against Cena, which would result in Cena slowing growing more crazy and paranoid and delusional and more heelish as the year went on.

I don't want anymore year before matches booked. It makes things to predictable and ties the creative teams hands more than needed which makes things harder for them than they already are. I wouldn't mind seeing Cena vs Taker next year to cap off Takers career but right now I would rather see them focus on Cena vs Ryback/Henry and Taker teaming with Hell No to fight The Shield. Even if Taker only stays around for a month and just competes in a 6 man match at Extreme Rules I think that would be cool, I always enjoy seeing Kane and Taker team up and Bryan being with them is just a plus!

It was incredible!

And Del Rio, that was some good face behavior. Felt like hadn’t seen that in a very long time. I think that’s the best thing they’ve done to endear him to the crowd.

Orton must've felt like beating up a fan, he looked mad as hell.

JBL joked that he was going to RKO the whole audience.

this is 500 times more of a hijack than last year ever was. i know the post-WM raw is always filled with them but they have utterly taken over today.

i hope it snowballs into future raw's to drive vince even more nuts.

I'm looking forward to next year's post Mania Raw. :P

I'm pretty sure he's still under contract at TNA. I think people were just saying that cause he was at the HOF ceremony.

Bianco wrote:Rock's injury is BS, I don't know if they are covering for his no-show or gave an excuse for him to be off TV.

I marked out like a 10 year old Cena fan when Hell No came out to help taker.

The crowd singing Fandango's theme was great, a good crowd does make for a better show

As far as the world title and dolph, I give it 2 months maybe, or whenever the next tour of Mexico starts, whichever comes first

I'm praying the Fandango theme is the new "YES".

I think they go to Mexico in the fall, don't see Del Rio winning it back so soon though. Dolph/Christian would be good.

I'm glad Kane and Bryan are getting another shot at those guys. And it's neat seeing Taker stick around a bit.
