Interesting. Never got much of a sequel vibe to this story, but I guess that could work. Maybe there are some more heroes out there; new characters.
I had missed this thread last year, but just re-read the book last week. Some of you were asking about P-Z and why that wasn't debunked. Maybe to some folks this was an intentional red herring, and to a degree, I guess it was. But Rodney's a guy who is all about street cred. As the guy who can control the Exes, and as the guy now running the SS, it puts fear into the hearts of people to think he's Patient Zero. It's an ominous sobriquet.
I don't know if they still do it, but gang members would sometimes earn nicknames or titles after they'd performed some notable deed, like killing someone. it would stand as a symbol of status among the gang. Perhaps "Peasy" serves that same function for Rodney, in a world where killing means less than bringing the dead back.
Ex-Patriots sounds pretty cool actually. As seen in his Outhouse interview.
