Just started A Storm of Swords. Thought A Clash of Kings was very good but not quite up to the first novel. Hopefully there is a bit more focus on Robb and what he's doing this time.

If I didn't just accidentally spoil myself in the wiki on the books I would be angry with you right now for spoiling it for me. I had a feeling she didn't die anyways though.

Still she sucks, all she ever does is cry about how she lost her kids or her husband, which is understandable but not entertaining.

Now I am angry I'll have to suffer through more of her crap.

That is why I didn't read anything prior to my post, but I did assume that a post which quotes mine wouldn't spoil something lol.

Am I wrong though, she wasn't a very interesting character? I just think Martin used her to show us what was going on in other more interesting parts of the book, like with Renly or Robb.

Oh and does the Knight of Flowers ever get as gay as he did in the tv show? Because as it is now they just hint at it.

It's just hinted at. Part of that is because non of the POV characters are close to Loras and/or Renly, so you don't know what's going on in the bedroom with them.

And yeah, I didn't like Catelyn as a character all that much either. She actually became less likeable as the story progressed for me. But since her chapters are your eyes for what's going on with Robb and her family, I still enjoyed reading them.

When I was reading some reactions to Renly and Loras' sex scene on the TV show, people were saying that it was really obvious that Brynden the Blackfish and Edmure Tully are also gay. I know they are hesitant to marry, but they didn't seem gay to me.

I've heard people suggesting the Blackfish was gay, but never Edmure, he seemed pretty happy with Roslin Frey (before her family killed his family) and that wasn't her fault. Plus he has fucked whores before, as evidenced by Tom O'Sevens' song about the floppy fish.

Speaking of Tom O'Sevens, I fucking love the Brotherhood Without Banners, especially in the third book when they're like a non-gay Merry Men to a Robin Hood who can't die. I was disappointed to see them corrupted in A Feast For Crows, but it's a theme of Martins' books, and really, they are outlaws. Although some of them seem to still be honourable like Thoros, and we don't see Anguy or Edric Dayne.
