Posted this in the Creatures & Monsters thread...
Newly Discovered Acorn Worm Named After YodaDiscovered a new type of acorn worm, scientists have. Named it after Yoda, they did.
The reddish-purple worm was found about 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, and has large lips on either side of its head region that reminded researchers of the floppy-eared Stars Wars character. Its full scientific name is Yoda purpurata, or "purple Yoda."
Researchers found the worm during the ECOMAR research program, which uses a remotely operated submersible to search for new animals along the seafloor at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between Iceland and the Azores.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is Now FreeLess than one year after it first launched, BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic has been reworked into a free-to-play experience. Without paying you'll be able to create a character of any class and play through the entire story experience from level 1 to 50.
You won't have access to the full game for free, however. Many portions are locked behind a pay wall, and you'll need to purchase virtual currency, called Cartel Coins, to unlock them. Pay-restricted content includes unlimited access to Flashpoint dungeons, player versus player Warzones, additional item storage and clearance to use rare in-game items. So while you won't be able to get the full The Old Republic experience, you will at least be able to see all the story, which is arguably the best part.

I didn't even know there was a toy hall of fame, although the fact that it exists doesn't surprise me. Having said that, the original Star Wars action figures going in seems to be deserved.

Thank you Troy for the sig

Oh... Disney vs. Disney...
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith 3D Moves One Week Earlier20th Century Fox is following this year's 3D re-release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace with 3D versions of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith in 2013. The former will arrive on September 20 and the latter on October 4.
Attack of the Clones will be going up against Ron Howard's Rush with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl while Revenge of the Sith will face off against the Vince Vaughn comedy The Delivery Man, Relativity Media's thriller Paranoia and the Robert Rodriguez comic book sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Hmn.. I loved Star Wars: Legacy but a big part of that is the team of Ostrander/Duursema whose Star Wars work I've loved in general. This new series does not have them.
EXCLUSIVE: Hardman and Bechko Resurrect "Star Wars: Legacy"This new series features a descendant of Han Solo and Leia Organa, who, Bechko and Hardman told CBR News exclusively, is named Ania Solo. Bechko and Hardman also shared details about the Imperial Knight and Mon Calamari featured on the cover for "Star Wars: Legacy"#1.
With a tale taking place shortly after the original "Star Wars: Legacy" series, the writers also teased that Cade Skywalker may also appear, though not in the opening arc. For now, we have the promise of stories set some 100 years after the Battle of Yavin featuring Jedi, Sith, the Force and a descendant of Han and Leia.
