Miyagi Costumed Hero to Get Live-Action TV Series in July

Ryu Project confirmed last week that the tokusatsu (live-action special effects) television series Bakishin Riser Ryu based on its original character will debut this summer. The group created the title character last year to appear at local schools in Miyagi Prefecture and raise the spirits of children affected by the March 11 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster.

A "special edition" episode will premiere on Miyagi Prefecture's TBC network during the Watchin! Miyagi news program on July 3, and the regular series will begin airing on July 10. Takayuki Miyauchi will perform the series' theme song. Staff members have posted photographs from the series' recent filming sessions on their official blog.

Hello...

Nagai's Kekko Kamen Heroine Gets New Live-Action Film

The Japanese film news source Cinema Today reported on Wednesday that Go Nagai's original Kekko Kamen manga will receive a new live-action film adaptation. Adult video actress Aino Kishi will star as Kekko-Kamen Shinsei -Reborn-'s title character, a young heroine who wears nothing but a red mask, boots, gloves, and a scarf.

The story of the original manga revolves around a student named Mayumi Takahashi who transfers to a high school that is known for its perverted teachers who sexually harass the female students. However, the masked heroine Kekko Kamen comes to the rescue of the harassed students.

You know, when you mentioned the upcoming new Cutey Honey manga, I was thinking that they needed to do something new with Kekko Kamen, too! :-D

Did you watch it?

Really liked it! The text seemed to go really fast though. For being a comedy, the suits are pretty badass (other than the helmets of course). Blue is the best!

Cool!

I enjoyed episode 5. Thought it was well put together.

It gets kinkier as the series goes on. The last one I saw (6) featured Blue a lot (not in the kinky parts).

The CD single of the opening theme was released. Here is a preview...

Kinda weird...

Shu Watanabe & Ryosuke Miura to star in the first “Hero Next” movie

Toei, the company that makes the popular Kamen Rider and Super Sentai series, has revealed the start of a new project, ”Toei Hero Next,” using the actors that have starred in those series. PIECE ~Kioku no Kakera~ (directed by Ten Shimoyama) is the first film and features Shu Watanabe (20) and Ryosuke Miura (25) who starred in the popular Kamen Rider OOO. From now on, the series will feature young actors who have graduated from Toei’s tokusatsu series.

“Toei Hero Next” is a project to show a new side of the young actors. The first actors selected were the stars of Kamen Rider OOO. The main character, Eiji Hino (Watanabe), transformed into Kamen Rider OOO, and his partner, Ankh (Miura), was a monster. In the show the two of them presented themselves as superb partners. In PIECE, Watanabe plays a free reporter and Miura a cameraman with five personalities. They pursue a mystery in this science-fiction suspense story.
