Anime more often is science fiction or fantasy. The more super-hero-y is the tokusatsu stuff.

Still, there is stuff like Gatchaman around. Tiger & Bunny is super hero-ish. Sunred is a tokusatsu-like anime, but it is in the humor vein. This season there is Samurai Flamenco, which is sort of like Kick Ass meets Kemen Rider. Kill La Kill, is more insane than anything but the girl has a suit that is kind of super powered (a crazy version of Guyver?).

Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger Member Personalities Revealed
22
Dec 2013
GekiDan

Few weeks before the confirmation on the cast members, translations from a newly published magazine showcasing the 38th Super Sentai series Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger (烈車戦隊トッキュウジャー) had revealed each of the member's personalities.

Getting an initial idea on our five main characters, their personalities are:

• Tokkyu #1, the leader of the Ressha Sentai, is a force of his own, a happy soldier, and it seems that he hides a greater imagination than anyone else.
• Tokkyu #2
is an incredibly smart, walking dictionary – the serious soldier – and in a fight, he’ll over-think just about anything.
• Tokkyu #3
is a dependable woman who always comes to the aid of her friends, using a variety of martial arts to unleash her exacting techniques on the enemy.
• Tokkyu #4, a forever unhurried soldier, even in a pinch, and that’s actually where he finds his power.
• Tokkyu #5
is a cute-natured girl, who turns into a variety of different characters to fight. Giving people the wrong impression of her strength is what gives her an unexpected power.

To protect the route of light, the "Rainbow Line" from the "Shadow" of evil, the 38th Super Sentai starts to run! Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger premieres February 16th, 2014.

I remeber seein in this thread something about a live action series involving a spaceship and some Transformerslike creatures fighting on it. Any idea?

Hmn not sure. Though there are a ton of anime mecha, it isn't as common in tokusatsu. I'll have to think about it.

Sounds like one of the Rangers series perhaps?
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

So a few of the "Zords" fighting inside a spaceship?

Unless he means just armored heroes fighting in a ship? Like Skyzel and Groundzel (forgot their new names) in the Kamen Rider Fourze movie?

Sad and a bit of a shock...

The Founder has passed.
It is with incredibly sad news that I rely to the fans and otaku's all around the world that Daniel Vilodres. Gekidan Owner and Founder of this website has passed away.

GekiDan is known for getting groups of people together and discussing many different types of nerd related culture from Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman As Well as Anime that he enjoyed and liked to talk about to different types of Science Fiction and Stories in general.

Gekidan would be kind to everyone and help everyone with whatever they needed. Gekidan was the kind of man who would listen to your opinions and let you know what he thought. even if it was a pointless dispute over something little.

As a Member of JEFusion I vow to do my best to keep this site going. keep it from blowing into nothingness. But this site wouldn't be anything without what Dan has built and the fans that we have gathered up. thank you so much for being there.

More at the link. Rest in peace and my condolences to his loved ones.
