Just finished the Fall of Cybertron campaign mode. Wow.
Plays much more fluid and varied than WFC, combat and level design had a lot more depth than the previous run-and-gun approach design...this time I could actually die pretty easily unless I was morestrategic. Also like that the special powers are more noticeable. Cliffjumpers cloak was pretty cool, as was Jazz & Swindle's grappling hook, Vortex's shockwave and Soundwave's cassettes. Graphics and textures are also boosted...night and day compared to WFC. Especially in the cutscenes like Metroplex's debut.
Storyline is also a lot more deeper and cohesive instead and everything feels like it has a point this time and there are a ton of G1 and movie references. Don't want to drop any spoilers, but we get a play of Starscream's coronation is a great one. And the G1 Megatron pistol DLC even has the original 80's cartoon sound effects from the 'pew-pew' to the old cartoon transformation sound when equipping it.
MP works nicely despite the stripping of a lot of stuff from War, evens up everybody pretty well. the customization of the look of your characters is very good.
Bottom line, this took me way back to my childhood. High Moon really did wonders on this...they took all my expectations of an improved game and went a step beyond. One thing that bothered me though, the same soundtrack was playing through every level. It's not a bad one, but it drives me nuts listening to it for hours on end.
Back to multiplayer.
