I would have found a more interesting part of the story to expand.

Like a couple people already said they were gonna need shelter and there was no way they were all gonna live in the house, so the barn would have made the next best living quarters. I would have searched it the first damn day I was there, found out was going on, and burnt it to the ground along with all the zombies inside. This would probably have caused a fight with Herschel and I would have been forced to kill him. Then the farm would be mine, I would have tried to make it a safer place than they did, and when I realized that was impossible I would have moved the fuck on with as many supplies as I could carry.

Then why even bother with the barn? :?

Just because they're goddamned fools doesn't mean I think they should be left with the ravening undead right next door to their farm. They may not understand that they're in danger, but they are in danger.

Amoebas wrote:As stated earlier, when the group first arrived at the farm, shelter would have been a priority. The idea of living in a nylon tent vs a sturdy barn is a no brainer.

It would have been looked at immediately, discovered for what it was (thus ending the nauseating search for Sophia) and come to a head much sooner.

From there, it's inevitable that they would to be destroyed and Herschel would be pissed. He'd kick us off the farm which would be a blessing as there's no security there to begin with.

You're playng a different game. :derp:

The events happened as they did on the show and you discovered it when they did. Now, what would you have done? :derp:

There were quite a few things going on. Carl being shot, SHane and Otis heading out and Otis not making it back and Hershel being insistent that this was not a permanent stay. SO just saying "fuck you, we're gonna go live in the barn" probably wouldn't have worked.

Looking for Sophia. WOuld you have done it? How long and so on?

Not sure if it is too late to answer this, but I'am.

Yes I would have looked for her, as for how long, three days at most. Longer then that I think you would be putting other people at risk.

Next topic:

Considering the circumstances, would you have left Shane in the schoolbus or saved him?

Tough one. I would know sooner or later that at one point it would come to a head, but I would still save him, as a one last remembrance of our friendship.

So let's see if this next one can stir it up a little.

What would you have done about the barn?

Same thing they did. Kill everyone of the dead.

But that's the thing - I'm not stupid and it would never have come to that. I would have looked at the barn on day 1.

Besides you never qualified "the barn dilemma" with a fixed point in time so my answer is still a win. 8)

I think the issue here is finding the farm. It's a little tough not to search when you're hunkered down in the area. But I think if they were still headed to Ft. Benning, something around 3 days sounds about right.

Again, most people didn't even get to the farm on day 1. And it wasn't as if they were entirely welcome. So, again, there were reasons why they didn't or weren't welcome to.

But sure, you're definitely winning... :derp:

I guess I'm gonna disagree with most people here about the barn.

If the intent was to stay on the farm (which up to that point was the best place they had found by miles) then I don't think it was the way to go.

It's great that Rick was able to talk Hershel down, but the idea of having to kill him, Jimmy, Patricia, Maggie and Beth is not something I would chalk up, "well it just had to be done." That road leads to the Governor and that's not how I would conduct myself.

It's not that I wouldn't want to get rid of the walkers, but I wouldn't have done what Shane did. It was a clear challenge, not only to Hershel, but to Rick. And that led to a knife in the heart and then a bullet to the head.

Catching up a bit, with Shane, I would have nuked him. Nuked him from orbit, it was the only way to be sure. With the barn, I would have nuked it from orbit, it's just the only way to be sure.

So you would have left Shane in the bus?

My only concern there is what if he survived? It's not killing him that's the problem, but the situation as it was presented.
