I've seen complaints on other sites about Snyder's Superman even appearing in it.

Neither was George Reeve or Christopher Reeves.

I was watching that, thinking that the Jim Lee version didn't bother me half so much as the Snyder crotch-Arrow Superman. Actually, the redesign on Darkseid looked.... kinda badass, making it hard to knock for the new-52 portion.

But... they deserve to be there. The point is that no matter who YOUR favorite Era of Superman was, he's in there.

Isn't he the very first villain in the montage? Gets knocked right through a wall?

Hm. Did I miss a Krypton in there somewhere?

Unless, of course, you like pre-Crisis Earth-2's aged Superman, Byrne's "Man of Steel" Superman, the Dean Cain Superman, Tom Welling "Smallville" Superman, or Brandon Routh Superman. In those cases, you're SOL, aren't you?? :smt102

(And for the record, I'm not expressing a particular preference for any of them. Those are just examples of Supermen that were left out.)

But hey, Snyder helped make the thing, so nepotism demands that they HAD to stuff Snyderman in there, even if it's to the exclusion of others. Sorry, but I'm still not wowed by his inclusion or Nuperman's. Still a nice piece, though.

If you read the article, Bruce Timm mentioned that they had to make some choices to fit as many things in as possible. Timm specifically mentioned wanting to homage Kirk Alyn but not being able to fit it in. There was a Smallville reference in the water tower.

To be fair, I'm not sure reading picture books about "Superman" and "Batman" is any less embarrassing. :P

I'm well aware of the article, thanks. My point is that Adamiani's point concerning "no matter who YOUR favorite Era of Superman was, he's in there" is incorrect. There were indeed eras of Superman left out. And surely, the era concocted by Mr. Snyder was given heavy preference, since this animated piece is partly his baby. Nepotism has its privileges...
