Recently I went into the Avengers thread and called Doombug a "Thundercunt". Now I always insult Doombug, because he is an absolute idiot who I hate, but me and him get on enough I think (as in I annoy him.. yet is is always drawn to me).

Now fair enough that is perhaps worthy of a warning, but when sdischero then a few posts later called me a "Thundercunt" I reported him. Just to see what would happen really. The quote I got back was something along the lines of "It's ok, he didn't mean to offend anyone"

Now said mod later went through the thread and saw that I had used the insult first. I then got warned for the use of this word. Later thread kicked for saying it again....

I mean does this not seem like certain posters are protected for you? I've tried to be nice to this mod since this happened, but to be honest, I think it's a bit unwarranted. I mean I do have a point here right? If I'm getting warned for something another poster is allowed to say, then I don't really know what to think?

BTW - I really like some of the mods here, genuinely don't want to be a dick, but I do want to post in that Avengers thread again! Think it's pretty silly that's all to get threadkicked and warned for something others are allowed to do.

Basically, Bender and other rabble rousers, don't use this thread as an excuse to kick up a fuss!

It's because you DID mean to offend and sd was just joking around. This is not rocket science.

to the point, no this isn't inconsistant - its very consistant behavior on the part of the Benevolent Mads as its always (that've I've seen) been the case that as soon as an insult has been reported once, and even delt with, that insult is no longer agaisnt the rules

for an example - in the first of the Alan Moore threads (something along the linnes of "any one who disagrees with me on Before Watchmen is an ignorant shit") punch was personally attacked by Bubba, it was reported, and Bubba got a talking to. After that "cunt-rag" became an accepted word (and is even in the word filter changing to "Newton" if spelled as one word)

It is what it is.

on a related note - if you had said that doombug was acting in manner that reminded you of a Thundercunt or had said that anyone who agrees with/thinks like/behaves like doombug is a Thundercunt it would have been ok as (according to RU's list of Outhouse Rules) that would not have been a personal insult as its perfectly alright to insult groups of people

But I was just joking around, and I reported sdischero and the mod took it as a serious report. Incident #1

Doombug also reported my insult after. Incident #2.

Both incident #1 and incident #2 are reported after someone got called a thundercunt.

In incident #1 the mod see's this report, and explains it's ok because the poster is joking around

In incident #2 the mod see's the report, and warns the poster.

Same mod. Same insult. Same context

I don't know anything about your relationship with sd, but if you want to know why your insult was taken seriously, I read something recently that might shed some light on the situation

the Benevolent Mods probably know that you and doombug are not friends

another example would be if I called bender a "dickless consequence of a crackwhore's broken condom" I'd probably be let alone, as Bender and I are friends

but, if I said the same thing about Arion (a detestable poster who is a pox on us all) and I was reported, I'd probably get a talking to as everyone knows I can't stand that Peruvian douchenozzle of a parrot

its kind of like when a drug dealer is robbed - yes the cops should care because theft is theft, but who really cares when anything bad happens to a drug dealer

you've made a name for yourself here by being outrageous, by purposefully pushing people's buttons, and posting in a manner that reminds many people of a douchebag, and you seem to enjoy that status. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that at least one of the cops (aka: Benevolent Mods) doesn't care when bad things happen to you.

beyond this conversation I know nothing about the specific incident, but if you PM nieto (unless its his fault) you might be able to come to a reasonable resolution
from all of my interactions with him (that didn't envolve bender) he's been pretty fair
