See, I fall on the side of thinking this was murder and Zimmerman's fault. But I see the point here, which is that the media engages in race baiting and sensationalism, purposely trying to twist the situation into something more inflammatory than it is. Instead of a paranoid, crazy dude who obviously had some kind of problems that he was acting out through his neighborhood watch job seeing someone suspicious, getting involved where it was not his place to do so, and in the end murdering someone who was innocent, it is a "white hispanic" murdering a "clean cut black child" because of racism. That's what the media does, they have an agenda.

Do you think people are too stupid to make rational judgements on situations like this without propaganda to reinforce your point? I don't see the reason to present the situation in such a light, other than for ratings and sensationalism, or the more sinister motive of using race to keep the common people divided and unfocused while those in power continue to erode our freedom and grab more power and control.

The media has a pattern in how it handles murders:

Celebrity
Pregnant white girl
Teens
Pretty white girl
White killing white
White killing black
Black killing black

I really am surprised this is getting so much attention.

I think it's really more for how the police department has conducted the investigation. If they had arrested Zimmerman like they should have this would be a big local story,but, not in the national headlines like it has been.

This is the second killing I've read about in relation to the stand your ground law, and it was just as controversial, it just didn't get the same exposure.

Wait and see, but it sounds like there's going to be some more ill-will between the Hispanic and Black communities there for a while, as if they needed any more.

I'm with you, achilles.

Nice to see that the black community is rallying behind a case that no one knows very little about.

But it involved a poor, little innocent black citizen being gunned down by an evil, white (but hispanic) man (who was looking for any black to shoot!!). Let's lynch him! Send him and the chief of police (and family) death threats!!! Raise money to kidnap and possibly kill him!!!

Oh BTW, there was a murder in Troy, NY yesterday but it was black on black crime. (one innocent, one not).

Oh, nothing to see here.
