Forensic experts: Zimmerman was not crying for help on 911 tapes

Two forensic voice experts have told The Orlando Sentinel Saturday that neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman was not the voice crying for help in the 911 calls after he shot Trayvon Martin.

Tom Owen, a forensic consultant for Owen Forensic Services LLC and a court-qualified expert witness, used software called Easy Voice Biometrics to compare Zimmerman’s voice to the 911 calls with cries in the background after the shooting on February 26th.

“I took all of the screams and put those together, and cut out everything else,” Owen said. “As a result of that, you can say with reasonable scientific certainty that it’s not Zimmerman.”

Another expert, Ed Primeau of Michigan, used audio enhancement and human analysis to also determined that it was the slain teenager’s voice instead of his shooter.

“I believe that’s Trayvon Martin in the background, without a doubt,” Primeau told The Orlando Sentinel. “That’s a young man screaming.”

Honestly, probably the first and best rule of self defense is never to put yourself into situation where you need to. Sometimes, it's unavoidable, but both of these guys put themselves into a dangerous situation without needing too. Both seemed to be thinking with their balls rather than their brains.

It's pretty easy for armchair quarterbacks to tell a black teenager that he shouldn't care about some weird dude following him trying to be super spy and possibly calling him a fucking coon in the process.

Remember, only the non-black person has the right to defend himself, not the black kid who was doing nothing wrong that was being followed by some creep with a gun.

It's pretty easy for armchair quarterbacks to tell some neighborhood watch guy not to go after some guy he's never seen before walking around apparently aimlessly in a gated community in the rain. And pretty easy for same armchair quarterbacks to try and convict that guy based on press accounts.

Nice way to display your bias. "Creep with a gun." Of course, that kid WAS wandering around in a gated community in the rain, a place where said creep had never seen him before. And all said creep did was follow the kid, who then took it upon himself to attack said creep and try to kill him---if that account is accurate.

Interesting and completely pointless. I've heard other audio "experts" analyze the tapes and come up with the opposite conclusion, or no conclusion at all. Evidently even with augmentation it's one of those tapes that each listener hears what they want from.

In other news, NBC has announced they are undergoing Operation Scapegoat to try and convince the public that they're unbiased and totally not liars when they presented a version of the 911 tapes that they heavily and purposefully edited to make it seem like Zimmerman was a racist who was racially profiling Martin---until they got caught with their fingers on the race-baiting switch. Now, they intend to find some preferably lower ranking employee, or maybe the piece's producer to pin the blame on so they can show that they as a network had NOTHING to do with such a clumsy attempt.

I'm kind of surprised networks and other news agencies keep doing things like this. Do they think that no one will check in the age of internet bloggers and news agencies? It's sort of like that Rutgers thing where they came out and said that one kid taped the other having gay sex and put it on the internet, after holding viewing parties, none of which he did.

Or the media in the Duke lacrosse rape case which turned out to be fabricated.

You forgot the part wehre "said creep with a gun" deliberately disobeyed the 911 Dispatcher and pursued the kid who was within his rights to walk to the store and purchase skittles and ice tea.

Or the part where the kid who wasn't within his rights to jump the creep with the gun, (which said kid with skittles had no way of knowing he had), and try to murder him.

He wasn't wandering around he was going back to his father girlfriend house. He had every right to be there.
