Blizzard confirms in-game micro-transactions for World of Warcraft

Blizzard will add in-game micro-transactions to its massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft.

Community manager Bashiok confirmed the news on Battle.net last night following reports last week that the introduction of an in-game store was imminent.

Players were left concerned at the nature of the items Blizzard was testing, including "convenience-based items" such as buffs to aid levelling. The developer has now confirmed that such items will initially only be available in Asian regions.

For Western gamers, the shop will simply be a more streamlined way to buy extras such as pets, Blizzard argued.

3DS receives update in North America, StreetPass Mii Plaza DLC available
July 11th, 2013 Posted in 3DS, News, Posted by Brian

Nintendo has published a new 3DS system update in North America. In addition to typical system stability improvements, it adds the much-anticipated StreetPass Mii Plaza DLC.

Europe and Japan received the same functionality last month. Users are able to buy four new games after performing another upgrade inside the StreetPass Mii Plaza: Mii Force, Flower Town, Warrior’s Way, and Monster Manor.

Pricing is set at $4.99 per game. Alternatively, you can purchase the bundle for $14.99.

Updating your system will bring the 3DS firmware to version 6.1.0-12.

My wife is actually playing Animal Crossing (GC) on our Wii right now. It's having some glitching issues, though... which is frustrating because I'm right in the middle of The Last Story. Also on the Wii.

Hopefully it's just a GC conversion thing because I wasn't having any problems last night.
