They really ruined this character, she's just an annoying hippie now.

I've slowed down on Angel a bit. I though the storyline with Pylea was pretty awful and pointless. At least Freddie seems interesting.

Give the Willow storyline a chance. It isn't going where you think it is.

Fred was the only good thing that came out of Pylea.

The ending of Angel is great, even if he doesn't become human.

I hate to be negative, but season 6 was terrible. An absolute bear to get through (evidenced that it took me over 2 months to finish it). So dreary, no fun, overly dramatic. Just no good. It did get interesting in the end again, but overall, blech. Worst season of the show so far.

Started Season ep 1, that was fun and a good progression for most the characters. I'm optimistic about this.

Season five was the logical end.

I could have lived with five as a great ending. Seven felt like a very different show, and the second half was totally serialised which was very odd for Buffy, but I really enjoyed it anyway. Six can go suck a fuck.

So I just blew through season 7, such a monumental improvement over the previous season. The last episode was a nice little send off for the show. Though I was a little bummed that they offed Anya so casually. I don't really plan on returning for the comics, just not that interested in those kinds of continuations.

Liked seeing Nathan Fillion in another role, it's kind of fun to watch the show and see the first appearance of some of whedon's favorite actors.

A lot of wht you guys said is true, this was a good show, and some of the characters I didn't like at first did grow on me, like Xander.

Overall I'd probably rank the seasons like this

5
3
7
2
4
1
6

Now to start Angel back up and finish that one. I just did season 3 episode 2.

You're right not to bother with the comics - they're just not that good. And I'll tell you this: Angel season 4 is heavy going but worth it, while season 5 is the best Buffyverse season of all, hands down.

To be honest I didn't care for season 2 of Angel that much either, and it seems like season 4 hits some of the same beats, with Angelus returning and other things I've gleaned off of comments here.

But I know Spike returns in S5 so I'm excited for that, I felt like we didn't get enough character moments for him post-soul in season 7 due to be insane for half the season, then under the influence of that trigger. But they were juggling a pretty massive cast at that point.

They didn't clarify but I assume his ensoulment does not come with the same stipulation as Angel about the happiness thing?
