In more ways than one, I'm sad to report.

Penn State is going to be #1 soon. Alabama is definitely going to lose at some point. Texas Tech should leapfrog everyone and be at least #3.

No one is playing better than Florida right now, no one.
It was a much closer game when I posted that. Guess that stuff didn't matter.

I'm going to repeat my question for Fred since the last post got eaten by the server change.

So, I talked to my dad this morning and he mentioned that there are rumors flying around Knoxville that they want Gruden to replace Fulmer. How realistic is this? Because it sounds like a lot of wishful thinking to me.

EDIT:Oh yeah, Oklahoma being ahead of both Florida and Texas in the Coaches poll is a joke.

I always did find that kind of stupid. I blame it on lazy voters.

Looks like Phil Fulmer is gone next year. I'm betting he's fired but it will go down as a "mutually agreed seperation". UT would do very well to throw a lot of money at David Cutcliffe and steal him from Duke.

you are correct sir: mutually agreed separation.

i know he's 3 days late, but maybe now he'll finally go visit Linus in that pumpkin patch.

I kinda agree with Skip Bayless and others when they say that even when UT was winning a lot of games and playing for titles, Fulmer never seemed like a "great" coach/leader compared to guys like Spurrier.

MSU fucking sucks. a blocked EP and a 27-yard FG doinked off the left upright both in the 4th quarter, and the Dogs lose 14-13. at home. misery. :x

however, in happier news, and i know you've all been waiting with bated breath: no miracle, ESPY-worthy plays this year. the now-4th ranked, 8-0 Millsaps Majors went into San Antonio and thumped previously-undefeated and 8th-ranked Trinity in their own house 56-27. that's Trinity's first home loss to a D-III school since 1995, and sets the Majors up for a 10-0 record and SCAC championship season and a playoff berth (and hopefully a home game or 2). give all credit to the man, the myth, the legend, ex-Alabama coach and notorious philanderer Mike Dubose, along with all-world QB Juan Joseph. look out for the 'Saps, baby! :-D

he wasn't. he just had a butt-load of talent, decent leadership within the team, and played a style that didn't allow for many on-field mistakes.

but he himself is an idiot, at least IMHO.

My Tide is in first place, which means they're headed for a letdown soon. I don't think it'll come against LSU -- I think the Saban thing will get Alabama pumped for that one. And I don't think it'll come against Auburn for obvious reasons, which leaves a giant letdown against Florida in the SEC Championship, but I still think Alabama gets to a BCS Bowl if it plays out like that.
