I had a really weird dream last night.

The kind where you wake up and you're like "what the fuck?"

It's particularly strange because I hardly ever remember my dreams.

As far as dreams go, though - I hate the ones where it's a "better life" and then you wake up and go "Dammit!" as you actually remember it.

I hardly ever remember my dreams. The ones I do remember are usually messed up. I've had a few that were so horrible, that in my dream I had to tell myself this is just a dream. By doing that I can usually force myself to wake up.

Okay, so the dream happens in medias res, where there were other things happening but I had no idea because I don't remember them, but suddenly I'm at this party in this big fancy mansion with big glass windows that look out onto the huge swimming pool and avant-garde furniture, kind of like the house is that Jay-Z video with Pharrell...anyways, I'm there with all my people, but I don't actually see any of them, but everyone's passing out on the couches or leaving because it's early morning and we've been up all night. So Max and I are supposed to walk home, and Max calls me and says "hey I'm already walking home, I'll walk slow so you can catch up." and I was like "Aight".

Then in this big group of people hanging out on a stairwell, and I saw this girl that I used to hang out with in Brock. I used to like this girl but she didn't like me and instead went out with this giant dumbass for god-knows-what reason, but I did mess around with her (nothing sexual, but yeah) while she was with that guy, then after that I stopped talking to her. So I see this girl, then we go off to one of the couches and we're supposed to fall asleep, but we end up making out EXACTLY like that one night when we messed around.

Then I said "I gotta call Max and tell him I'm not gonna be there" and I think I did and he was cool with that but I felt really bad about it after. Then it kind of transitioned into something else, or I woke up or something.

I noticed a lot of things in the setting, like the room, it was huge with lots of couches with red and yellow colours, really bright. The couches didn't have arms, they were a lot like the benches you see in bus stations and stuff, but they were cushioned. They were made of that fake leather material, too. In the room, a lot of girls were giggling and a lot of the guys were like trying to be all smooth and stuff too. The house was so much like this Jay-Z video

Honestly, I think that's about feeling vaguely alienated and separate. Everything is an almost - you almost see your friends, you almost catch up with Max, you get with a girl with whom you almost had something in real life. I'd almost say its a Prufrock-esque dream.
