What Are Some Of Your Fav TV Themes?

Postby The Old Doctor » Tue Jun 10, 2008 6:51 pm

I'm listening to some now and I've got to say, I think some hold up well.
Space 1999 (the original), The Odd Couple, Inspector Clouseau (it got used in the cartoon) and a host of others. The range from dramatic to just fun is interesting. Also, there's that remix to spice it up for today.

"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

This all could have been about Idris Elba &/or Scarlett Johansson

A lot of the Mike Post stuff, like Rockford Files and Hill Street Blues.

The original Star Trek theme as well. R.I.P. Alexander Courage.

The Hawaii Five-O theme was a popular wedding staple where I grew up.

The Monkees theme was pretty big, too, now that I think about it.

And the Jeffersons. I still break into that one every now and again.

Twin Peaks was great. Doctor Who, Torchwood are some favs too.

Nothing beats Twin Peaks.

NOTHING.

And that goes for the entire series' soundtrack. How many shows can say they have the great and legendary Angelo Badalamenti scoring every episode of their show?

Battlestar Galactica, the original. Although I love the new BSG's combat drums as well.

Star Trek Voyager.

Angel...you can't beat a cello.

And I do like Doctor Who, although Series 4 has upped the manic to near painful levels. I prefed Series 3 version, I think. I do hope Martha comes back, she's got the best Companion theme.

You list is pretty much plucked from my head. :) I do like the new manic version of Dr. Who's theme, though.
