I liked the Dresden Files and plan on adding this series to my reading list.

Color of Magic, I did not rate very high actually 2/5, but I have read a ton of Prattchet Discworld books in the past and loved them. It was just CoM was off for me and knowing the quality of the later books, this one I did not enjoy as much.

The thing about the Dresden Files... it keeps getting better and better. Butcher keeps raising the stakes. And he's okay with changing up the status quo.

Hmm... I could go for a good western. Is there just one book or is it a series.

I enjoyed Color of Magic so it sounds like I'm in for a treat and have to keep reading these puppies.

What did you think of Clash of Kings? Sorta the polar opposite of Discworld when it comes to fantasy novels...

I wasn't much for reading books so Dresden is the first series I've followed. I love it!

I really liked Color of Magic but I'd watched the mini before, and I tend to enjoy books more when I have visuals to draw upon. I read up to the seventh book last year. I like the witches the best.

Lonesome Dove was written first and then the author wrote 3 more with the same characters. I read them because I love Lonesome Dove but they are far from necessary.

Be my guest. At the moment I'm trying to write both my Masters thesis and a doctoral application, so the reference works just keep coming thick and fast - structural anthropology, literary Darwinism and Russian formalism being particularly key just now.
