Struggling through Half Made World by Felix Gilman. i have less than 100 pages to go. Started strong, but the middle just crashed into really bad camping story but looks like the end may pick-up.

Kinda? It's about a London policeman who finds out magic is real and becomes apprentice to the last magician on the force. It's pretty good, and has a few sequels. Very very English.
