I liked it and I believe it is going to become a TV series.

Yep, what i like is that it will be a 10 part series and not an ongoing so it should be pretty tight. Also the 'twist' is right up shyamalan ally.

I can't decide on my next book. Anybody want to weigh in?

Choices are:
The Twenty Year Death by Ariel S Winter - I remember this having quite a bit of buzz as a hard-boiled noir last year. It's been on my "to read" list.
Live by Night by Dennis Lehane - As much of a Hammett and Chandler and Leonard fan as I am, I have yet to read any Lehane besides seeing his work on The Wire and the films of Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone. He feels like a pretty important crime writer for me to ignore. Is this the right book of his to start?
American Gods - I HATE Gaiman's Sandman, but this novel seems to be pretty well-praised outside of comic book circles. Might this get me to appreciate his work?
The Mote in God's Eye by Larry Niven - I really want to read some hard scifi. Big fan of Heinlein and wanted to give something else a try. Would this do?
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - Seems like a fun SciFi premise, and many of my friends have praised it.
Wool by Hugh Howley - I've seen this receive praise outside of SciFi circles, which is weird for a self-published original. Anyone read this? No one will give me a solid answer as to what its about.

Sorry this is so far behind, but if you're still thinking of some hard sci-fi, have you ever looked at Peter F Hamilton's Night's Dawn Trilogy?
