I liked the eye of the tiger mashup song in the soundtrack.

Wednesday we watched Moonrise Kingdom. it was breathtaking, easily Anderson's best film to date.
Yesterday, we watched Black Swan, it was odd - compelling and all - but odd.

Buybacks is having a buy 3 get 1 free sale and I picked off some stuff they mis-priced for too low.

A couple Case Closed mystery animes, The Phantom Of Baker Street and Countdown To Heaven. The Exhibitionists by Michael Melamedoff, and a new movie by Todd Berger called It's A Disaster (deluxe edition they had at $2.99, sells for $10 on Amazon).

G.I. Joe Retaliation

Stuff blew up, there was a bit of a plot, lots of ninja's fought. However, it all felt kind of lame.

Fahrenheit 9/11, but both were pretty good. I've seen them before but not in a while.

Jack Reacher - I really enjoyed this. It was a smart, entertaining action thriller. I might check out the books.

Wake Up - This was a documentary about a guy who claimed to wake up one morning seeing ghosts, angels and demons. It sounded more like he became open to the energy fields around us, but it put him on a spiritual journey where he went and talked to many faith healers, crack pots, mystics, etc. It was maddening at times, but the journey he went on was well worth watching him put up with the obvious nuts. He also managed to remain fairly objective about it all and let the crack pots speak for themselves, instead of damning them on screen. It was filmed over a three year period and it was interesting to see his skepticism and self development.

We watched The First Wives' Club, yes they showed up and suspended my man card for a week.

Now we are watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It's still creepy.

I hated this movie and turned it off halfway through.

Amber and I did a lot of joking around during the beginning of it. I can't say that I blame you. The kid is kind of a tool in the beginning. And honestly, I felt lied to almost immediately, I see ghosts and demons and stuff. Really I see blobs of stuff all the time. I also don;t like that he very clearly left out his drug use. However, once he gets past the crack pots and finds a couple of genuine people, he starts to grow up and that maturation and the evolution of his relationship with his girlfriend were fascinating.

It was a maddening movie to watch, messy and at times insincere, but I felt like the pay off was worth it.

All of that plus he's the director of a documentary about himself, which is dubious.
