Green Lantern

I wouldn't call it a great movie, but I can't say it was bad either -- I enjoyed it enough.

My expectations for the movie were fairly low. Conversely, my expectations for the first Thor movie were pretty high.

One of these two movies disappointed me. The other was called Green lantern.

Yeah, that's the thing, I really wasn't expecting a great movie. It was on free TV, so I recorded it, thinking what the hell, it's not going to cost me anything to watch. Had I had higher expectations, I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it the same way I did.

I can't say I enjoyed it. It was a stupid superhero movie, but it wasn't the second coming of Rape-Satan like everyone complained. And my point is that the first Thor movie was no better. Both were pretty much on par for me. Difference is, I really expected more from Thor, so I was disappointed when I saw that.

After listening to Lovecraft's At the Mountain of Madness, I wanted more of the same so I re-watched The Thing (1982) and Prometheus.

Lovecraft does not get enough credit.

Then for shits n giggles I decided to watch Man of Steel again because I remember people were dissing that movie for having too much Giger influence and now I realize Giger = Lovecraft so I checked for other parallels.

Not only is the Fortress of Solitude, "A Mountain of Madness", complete with mosaic history lessons about advanced beings from outer space who landed on earth thousands of years ago but those tentacled robots, from security drones to World Engines, all started to look kind of familiar...

Riddick - Why was this made? Don't get me wrong. I love Riddick the character but this movie made no sense. 5 seconds to sum up the last movie and then it's the first movie all over again. Sorely disappointed. :smt011

We're the Millers - Aniston is old. She has the old lady body now.

I haven't seen Riddick but I have heard quite a lot about it and at this point I would assume that it was made specifically so that it could clean up the mess that was made by Chronicles of Riddick.

Anchorman 2. I think the first is probably the best comedy ever, but this was just so-so. Not bad, just not classically great.

Alone With Her - A guy attempts to win the affection of a woman. He does what any guy would do and sets up surveillance equipment throughout her house to learn everything about her. What easier way is there to have everything in common? Getting to watch her shower and masturbate is just a small bonus.
