Since we've dealt with tearjerkers, let's delve into a related area: Romantic films. What films make you weak in the knees and dreaming of your soul mate?

Here's My 10 Favorite (not really in a particular order):

The Incredibly true Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995)

I know everyone's going to think lesbian film, no wonder she likes it, but the reality is this is one of the best expressions of innocent love that I have ever seen. I always get gushy when they are in the field listening to music together. Also regardless of gender or sexual orientation this is a date film that really sets a romantic mood. I know straight men that swear by it.

Shakespeare in Love (1998)

Shakespeare, disguises, love, comedy - this film has everything. What's not to adore.

An Affair to Remember (1957)

A classic... I had to fight between including Breakfast at Tiffany's or this and this one won out. We watched this at college every few months.

50 First Dates (2004)

If I could find someone willing to woo me every day... :sigh:

The Princess Bride (1987)

If I have to explain this one...

"As you wish"

Across the Universe (2007)

For the record, I love being sung to. The whole idea of the end when he's singing on the roof to get her attention, gets me every time.

Cutting Edge (1992)

Toe pick!

10 Things I Hate About You

Again with the whole singing thing. Somehow I missed this film - a friend turned me onto it in 2006 and it's among my favs now.

Enchanted (2007)

I get weepy throughout the whole ballroom sequence. And look, more singing... :p

Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

Charles: There I was, standing there in the church, and for the first time in my whole life I realized I totally and utterly loved one person. And it wasn't the person next to me in the veil. It's the person standing opposite me now... in the rain.
Carrie: Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed.
Charles: Let me ask you one thing. Do you think - after we've dried off, after we've spent lots more time together - you might agree *not* to marry me? And do you think not being married to me might maybe be something you could consider doing for the rest of your life?
Carrie: I do.

Ok. So what are yours?

only one moment from one movie comes to mind.

as Han Solo is being lowered into the carbonite chamber and the Princess sais, "I love you."

and Han replies, "I know."

Damn that makes me melt everytime.

I take that back, I just thought of two more.

In Witness when Harrison Ford and that girl dance to "Don't Know Much"

and in The Temple of Doom when that screeching woman begins to walk away at the end of the movie and Indy takes his whip and pulls her back and kisses her.

love those moments.
