Part of my problem is that I enjoy watching tv with others, but when you have scenes like that it gets a bit awkward for me.

Believe me my biggest mistake was watching True Blood season 1 with my sister (it was awkward, plus the show sucked)

Yes he serves the kingdom, and he started out with three plans that we know of, all of them Targaryens or at least we think so (not sure if the latest one is really one). Losing Dany wasn't in his plans, but he had to adapt to keep his position on the small council. I think at the time that her brother was still alive?

Plus I'm pretty sure that whole event was ruse so that Mormont could spy out the poisoner and they could use that as a motivation to get Khal Drogo to westeros.

The thing is with that though...

Mormont was spying for Varys but stopped doing so after awhile because he fell in love with Dany yes? I mean we really don't know the extent of his plans but I figured either Dany would die and her son would be the Targaryen in charge once Drogo went to westeros in revenge.

Mormont had no idea what Varys interests in Dany were. He's not too bright.

Episode 2 was great, good to see Balon Greyjoy and Asha/Yara. Tyrion continues to kick ass as Hand.

Have they moved Gendry finding out who Arya is forwards? I seem to remember that not happening until Book 3, but I may be wrong.

Melisandre is damn hot. I know some of you have problems with sex scenes, but this one was worth it! Plus, Littlefinger wiping jizz of a whore's face, LOL.

I think so, yeah, but not by much and I don't think it really changes things.

The casting has just been so good. Stannis' line from last week ('a lie, take it out') was pitch-perfect characterisation. That's him in a nutshell.

No, Gendry found out in Clash of Kings. However, I think it was later on in the book.

I like how Roz has been given a full character arc even though she wasn't in the books. I'm guessing that she will be the one whom Cercei mistakes for Shae.

Last night's episode was good.

Balon Greyjoy is a moron, I can see why his people have remained a backwards impoverished province all this time.

Not feeling the actress for Asha, maybe I"m wrong but I thought she was described as skinny with angular features. Not normal sized with a round face.

Last season they made Theon really dickish, now they tone it down a bit? He was way meaner to that girl on the boat in the book.

Melisandre was pretty darn hot, but I didn't care for the scene. The reason being because, in the books, Stannis' infedelity was left ambiguous for the audience, to come right out and say it? I don't know seems like they are showing cracks in Stannis' callous demeanor we were never privy to in the books. Maybe it doesn't matter, I just thought it was a strange scene when taken into context with the books.

Speaking of Stannis are we going to see his daughter and patchface (was that his name?) I don't recall them having any really important parts in the books, but she is instrumental into introducing the audience to greyscale.

Yeah (I think I spelled the name right but it could also be 'Ros').

I completely forgot about that. If they're really not including the Reeds, then I guess those characters are nowhere near as prominent so they can probably be excised.

I really hope that Reeds thing is just a rumor.

They are essential to Bran's journey in the following books.

I think the Reeds can be removed and Bran brought along by increasing the info level of his dreams though. They themselves are basically just plot movers and expository dialogue. Oh, and Osha (the wildling girl) could always have some of the Reed plot points shifted into her character easily enough.

But, if they combine Osha and the Reeds, who will go with Rickon after Winterfell is destroyed?
