Great episode, best of this season so far.

I think the Theon stuff worked really well on screen. Tyrion was fantastic, as always.

But the highlight for me was Yoren. He kicked ass in the battle at the end. That was awesome.

My favorite part was Arya/Jaqen. Loved the look Jaqen gave her when she tossed him the axe to free themselves with.

I can't wait for that storyline to play out this season.

I love the Jaquen=Syrio theory. It would be funny if all the people she meets in the books are basically the same guy!

You got that right PDH.

The fights scenes on the show have often left something to desire, but that one was probably the best so far.

I was reluctant on the actress they got for Margary but this girl did a good job.

I'm not sure how far you've got into the books yet but...

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Arya eventually falls in with the Faceless Men. You may have heard other characters mention them as the ultimate assassins. They follow a death cult which holds that Death is the only true God because He appears in all religions ("there is only one God and His name is...") and believe themselves to be doing the work of this God when they assassinate people. They can also change their faces, as Arya finds out at the end of Clash of Kings.

This is why Arya's story arc takes her to practically every where in Westeros and has her constantly changing her identity. It was all set up for becoming a Faceless Man.

So, the idea is that Syrio Forel was a Faceless Man. He didn't die, instead he assumed the guise of one of the guards and eventually of Jaquen. He might even be the guy who trains Arya later on. It's hard to tell how many Faceless Men there are because they change their faces so often.

Not sure whether I believe it but it is a fun theory.

I just finished A Storm of Swords.

Is there any basis for the theory, though? Or just fanwank? Because I don't think I ever thought that Syrio might've survived.. there wasn't anything pointing to that possibility in the first book, or any mention of him since. Seems like it would require an awful lot of coincidences and other guards, and Yoren all looking the other way for it all to work out with Jaqen falling in with them.

Oh, it's total fanwank.

Syrio's comments on the God of Death are strongly reminiscent of Faceless Men philosophy but then he is from Braavos so it's not that surprising.

I wouldn't complain if that ended up being true.

You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

This keep going and some phrase like "Westeros Style" or something will become code word for incest.
