Did a mini marathon of all the episodes this series last night. Was very enjoyable in one big go like that.

Also, would everyone agree with me that this is basically the first big prime time drama(well over here anyway, don't know when you guys get shown it) that doesn't seem to have a main character?

Not at all. It's joining the ranks of other ensemble shows like The Wire, Law and Order, ER, etc etc.

That's kind of the very definition of the word ensemble.

Did The Wire have a main character? You could say McNulty, but then he was barely in Season 4.

I think that Ned Stark was the main character in Season 1, but now that he's dead, there is no real main one. Tyrion is credited first, but he doesn't get that much more screen-time than anyone else.

I guess we're not counting soap operas, then?

They aren't prime-time in America.

They were in the 80's. Dallas had a main character, sure. But Dynasty? Falcon Crest?
(I dunno if they did or not, actually. Does Linda Evans' wrinkle cream count as a main character?)

Eh. Not any moreso than say, Tyrion on GoT in terms of screentime.
I mean, by the end, yeah.. but throughout the series, I think the ensemble aspect of LOST was very much that.
