I didn't know Kot, and I haven't bothered with DC much since the New 52, but his first issue caught my eye, and I loved the cover. I liked the story and have read the next two issues. I like what he is doing and I really wish DC had given him more time to develop his stories. But this is typical of the way DC is handling its creative staff, at least in the New 52. Nobody is staying around very long. I wish I understood what's happening there because DC's characters are some of my favorites.

It's a lot of work being an Internet Comics Bad Boy.

More demanding than a full time job, eh?

"Ales" is short for "Alesandre", the name of the Macedonian military adventurer who didn't actually conquer western Pakistan.

Not that I didn't spend several weeks trying to understand why parents would name their child after the plural form of a top-fermented malt beverage.

'Ales?' :drunk

"Son, we named you after what your mother and I had had too many of the night you were conceived."

If I ever get to write something for DC or Marvel I hope no one will make fun of my name.
