It did have what has to be the best looking work of Stuart Immomen's career. Gorgeous.

Art was great.

Were-Shark sucked.

Story was boring, sort of intrigued by the group introduced at the end.

I thought it was decently executed, but it had already been heavily spoiled by previews and interviews.

For reals. It felt like an issue we've already read. I mean the only thing missing was Marty McFly. I guess credit to Bendis for making the time travel the end of issue #1 instead of #6. I'm guessing that will be the Cyke face off.

I liked this alright. Granted, I somehow didn't get spoiled as to what was going to happen, so that interested me. I'd like to see a couple more issues before I judge this anymore.

Immonen's art has earned this A LOT of good will from me, so Bendis would have to be pretty egregiously awful to get me to drop this.

Luckily, I quite enjoyed Bendis' writing on this. He avoided Bendis-speak and had some pretty great character moments. I like that the book seems to focus on Beast, but am upset that there's a chance it might end with him dead. I was just telling a friend of mine that--between WATXM, Secret Avengers, and the S.W.O.R.D. miniseries from a few years back--I was really starting to like Beast. I'd be perfectly happy if Wolverine resigned as headmaster of the Jean Grey School and Hank stepped up to replace him.Might not happen now, though, unless he survives the tertiary (?) mutation. Do you think this'll be dealt with in any other X-books, or was the line about not telling anyone a way to confine it to this?

I'm also a bit pissed that Warren didn't even get a line! He's my favorite X-Man. Hopefully we'll hear more from him in future issues.
