When I was 4 i thought Blue Falcon was a serious super hero like Batman. My world was crushed when I got to see the show again as a 9 year old and realized he was just a parody. A strait man to set up jokes for the real star of the show, Dinomut!!! :smt010

For more controversy to have erupted over this, somebody would have actually had to listen to what Rob Liefeld had to say. :smt102

That pretty much the typical dialog of a comic as written by Brian Bendis.

When they killed bird boy in New Mutants. That hurt me right there in the heart.

I actually did like D-Man as a kid before he became played as a joke.

I actually liked the Trapster and did not realize he was already being played as a joke./

I don't consider Shatterstar or Rictor to be gay.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Outside of peter David writing them as a guy couple what is missing? Just curious.

Rictor has had at least one relationship with a woman, so he's more likely bi. Shatterstar isn't human and seems to be interested in exploring sex of all kinds, so omnisexual probably fits better. Just because someone is in a same sex relationship doesn't mean they are gay, to me. If I eat a vegan meal, I'm not suddenly a vegan.
