Hope spends the first pages agonizing over the humans she may be responsible for killing, then yelling at everyone to STOP! She didn't exactly put in a solid effort before calling it quits. Sure Cyclops is taking the decision out of her hands, he's supposed to just let her die?
She didn't want it because she wasn't good at it right away. It reminds me of The Last Temptation of Christ, Hope choose not to fulfill her destiny and now things have gone sideways with her team mates getting possessed. Seems like Hope's going to have to get back on track to set things right.
And THIS side is the one you guys are defending? The side which throws unwilling kids at a cosmic entity to do what they want them to do? What a bunch of heroes those X-Men are, right here.
The more you try justifying Cyke's actions, and trying to dig for reasons why Hope may have done what she did.. the weaker your position is.
Like I said - you're reaching for things that aren't there and trying to assign motivations and reasonings that are nothing but what you think is happening.
